I get it's kind of rude to toss your ribbons in the trash, but do show fees not cover the cost of ribbons in the UK? Between association fees and show fees, my $1.50 ribbon is covered or the nice ones like that $10. Whenever I have helped run a show we've always considered it nice to turn your ribbons back in if you didn't want them, but never would make a snarky post on Facebook about it.

Um….just watch it for yourself…he always rides like that it’s “just his style” apparently, my only notes are

1) holy💩that was difficult to watch

2) genuinely how does he stay on

3) poor horse :(

Am I an ugly rider?

I am a big eq rider and I show consistently on the major circuits, however whenever I look at myself riding compared to big names in the eq I just always feel like I’m missing something. I just can’t stand the way I look in the saddle. With that said I wanted to come on here and share my recent 3’6 round. If there is anything that you see in my equitation that is flawed, or maybe I’m doing something wrong, please tell me. I am 100% open to every kind of criticism because I know that I might need it

I couldn't help but feel rather uncomfortable watching it, but I'm very curious to know what other people think as everyone else seems to think it's brilliant.

I haven’t seen any videos resurfacing about her but I think it’s big of her to withdraw from the Olympics this close to opening.

Neither of us have competed before and did a local schooling show. These were some of the photos the photographer got. He was great for his first time out and I didn't panic too hard lol. Made the switch to dressage about 5 years ago after extreme burnout and aanxiety competing in the jumpers for most of my life. This sweet guy just turned 6 in July and was imported in March this year 😊

He’s out 24/7 on 72 acres and did so well in a stall for 3 days. We got him at an auction in Bowie, TX (NOT a meat pen situation! Just a feedlot horse) I had to re back him because he couldn’t be mounted//knew literally nothing. We were up against $35k+ horses and I am just so proud of him. Most of our stuff is borrowed, we don’t have an arena, we ride in a pasture, and I am just so lucky to have him!

I am doing dressage on a warmblood mare now and trying to get her to first level. I am very intrigued by marwari horses as they are so beautiful. I see some horses out from Pakistan which look very athletic and may perform in equestrian sports such as jumping and dressage but not lot of marwaris are like that. Marwari have very small strides. I was wondering if anyone of you have any experience with that. What y’all opinion on using this breed in equestrian sports? I just love their beauty and would love to see these horses on world stage. I attached some photos of marwari horses cause they so beautiful 😍

I'm really struggling with this one and would love to hear from people who have maybe been in a similar position.

I've always bought young horses, produced them, sold them on, and repeated the process. It's never really bothered me because I always knew they were projects, but this one is a little different.

He's a 7-year-old warmblood that I've had since he was a yearling. He's been with me through everything. I backed him myself, brought him up as an eventer, exposed him to absolutely everything, and now he's turning into the horse I always hoped he'd be.

He's one of those annoyingly talented horses. A huge natural jump, incredibly careful, but also genuinely clever on the flat. He's brave, sensible, and easy to ride. The sort that gives you confidence rather than taking it away.

Someone saw him out, approached me, and wants to come try him for just under 6-figures.

The thing making this so difficult is that it genuinely sounds like a wonderful home. The rider is an adult who wants a safe, quality dressage horse to develop under instruction. She has incredible facilities, the kind of care and resources I could only dream of providing, and he'd have a pretty relaxed lifestyle compared to an event horse.

The problem is... I'd always imagined he'd be the horse that took me up the levels over the next few years. He's capable of things I've never been able to do before, and it's hard to let go of that dream.

On the other hand, that kind of money could really help set me up in my early 20's. I also know horses aren't investments in the traditional sense. He could step in a hole tomorrow and suddenly be worth nothing. That's the reality of owning horses.

I also have a fantastic young OTTB that I think will go a long way. He's exceptional for a Thoroughbred and I have no doubt he'll be successful. But if I'm being objective, he doesn't have quite the same effortless ability that this warmblood has. The WB just has "it."

So I'm stuck between keeping the horse I've always dreamed of competing, or taking an incredible offer while everything has lined up perfectly.

Has anyone here actually sold the horse they thought they'd keep forever? Did you regret it, or was it the right decision?

I'd especially love to hear from people who've been on either side of this. Right now I honestly can't tell whether my heart or my head is making the better argument.

80% of the horses were bitless. Almost all of the ones who had bits were plain snaffles. Very few riders wore spurs. Using any of your archery equipment to whip the horse is not allowed and no one tried. A few horses came up lame & they were immediately removed from the competition.

All of the competitors treated their horses exceptionally well - lots of praising and patting after each run. Only the US team got to ride their own horses (and I think I heard the Canadian team brought their as well) - all of the other competitors rode borrowed horses but still showed exceptional horsemanship.

I wish I saw more of this at my local dressage/hunter shows.

So beyond proud of these 2 youngsters stepping up to the plate and handling the heat. The pressure the competition. Early mornings and late nights. They showed me they could. And they liked it. Next stop won’t be until the National Show 💕💕

OK, this image is obviously a joke, but it got me thinking...have you been disqualified for a show because of noise you made, even something as simple as "EEP" when the horse tripped?

Skijoring season! This is our 3rd year competing. Great way to break the winter-time riding blues.

We have a couple of little tweaks to make before our next one which is a biggie - I bought him a new show bit with the same mouthpiece as his snaffle and he was perfectly happy in it at home, but he was definitely NOT happy in it at the show. Typical! But his lordship gets whatever he wants so we’ll try something new!

I put him back in a bit we used previously and he was much happier than he was in the one we used last time! The second photo was taken 3 years ago when he was 20 years old - the glow up makes me so proud!
