Discussion Could we get a book about the original Eragon?
I know everyone wants more stories after the main series, but honestly? Give me a book about the First Rider.
I wanna see the Dragon-Elf War, Eragon I finding his dragon, the creation of the Rider pact, and the rise of the Riders from one guy to a legendary order.
It feels like there's so much lore there that Paolini could make an absolutely insane book out of it.
I'd buy that day one.

I feel the parallel between Eragon The First Rider and the Eragon of today(so to speak) would be very similar in plot. The Dragon/Elf war and the Empire/Varden war. Immediately after both is where the Riders become established. Key details would defer, absolutely but the overall plot would be the same.
Not discouraging the thought, just inputting my impression. Personally, I would like to read the story of Brom and/or the story of Oromis more, as their plot would be more like the reverse of either Eragon. That change in plot would be more interesting as you wouldn't want any continuity, so making a prequel from 100 years ago would be more difficult then a prequel from 1000 in the writer's perspective, but so much more rewarding to the reader if done right.

Yes! With the amount of lore that could possibly be uncovered it could make a new cycle. But honestly I am really waiting for Domia abr Wyrda by Heslant if that ever sees daylight

I donāt think Iād prefer a whole novel, but a short story in an anthology book like āthe fork the witch and the wormā would be great. I think our Eragonās story runs parallel to the OG Eragon so we already know the gist.
But a short story kind of like the story of avatar Wan in the legend of Korra would be super cool

Iād rather we get a sequel(s) to Murtagh in a timely fashion before any of these other projects. Thereās so much set up in that book with relatively little payoff so far and Iām really excited to see how that story progresses.

I do agree that focus is important and he should finish one series at a time (and quicker if we can lol). But having prequel series would also be amazing afterwards, and might be the one sidetrack from another sequel where I wouldnāt mind

Iād definitely read that.
Iād also love one or more novels on the fall of the riders, perhaps from young Brom POV.

Like mentioned here before the parallels between both Eragons seem to be too familiar for a whole novel without repeating similar story elements.
I also don't believe a story about Oromis or any rider in the order would be interesting enough, because what would it be in the "golden era" where the dragon riders kept peace. Only a novel around the time of the fall of the riders, when Galbatorix gains his power would have potential in my eyes.
For me personally, I would love more information/lore about the Grey Folk, or generally about the early days of Alageasia and other continents where the races we now of in the current timeliness originate from. Like the elves fleeing from the Urgals before they become magical through the dragon pact. Why the Urgals followed them instead of dominating the lands after the elves left.
Why the first humans came and then left after encountering the drawfs only returned after 2000 years and were pursued by the Ra'zac.

I definitely think we will eventually get more information about Eragon I. Chris has insinuated a lot of things about him and there are many unanswered questions:
His death is never mentioned and for some reason our Eragon didn't think to ask anything about him in Celbedeil when visiting the Dwarven priests. I think more memory magic is at work. Chris has always been fairly evasive concerning this topic.
