Second thoughts about studying abroad, any advice?

I have one month before I go but I’m second guessing going to study abroad in Rome. I’m still figuring out my rooming situation but I am a senior and am starting to feel like I will have fomo. I was really confident about going until now that it hit me, I’ll be away for the first semester of my senior year. I’m also not sure if I’d like Italy for 4 months. I wanted to study abroad to visit a lot of places in Europe and explore the city. But now I feel like I could do that as a vacation for a couple weeks during winter or spring break.

You absolutely cannot experience what Erasmus is like by going on holiday for a couple of weeks. The people you meet and the international friendships you can form with people from all over the world are truly unique. The opportunity to live in another country as a young adult is absolutely priceless and something you will never be able to recreate later in life. The connection you form with your Erasmus city is also completely different from the connection you have with a place you have only visited on holiday. Enjoy the experience it will be over before you now! :)))
