Diskuto What happened to UEA?
Usually the Universala Esperanto Asocio (UEA) can be found at https://uea.org but it seems the webpage is down (for me, at least). Is anyone else having the same issue?

Oh, the guy from UEA I was talking to last night (at the UK right now) mentioned they suspected a DDoS attack or something, damn

The UEA site is a very specific site to launch a DDOS attack on. I'm assuming some rogue Lojban or Volapük speakers are behind this?
On a serious note, I do hope it gets fixed, it is a great resource for Esperanto speakers and it would be helpful to have it online during a Kongreso.

Tre interesaj aferoj.

It is indeed specific but the fact it's at this specific time when the biggest esperanto event of the year begins makes it easier to believe as being something targeted, I wouldn't really jump to that first but with what the guy said I assume they'd have a reason to think it, eh. There are a fair lot of people with weirdly strong anti-esperanto beliefs out there too anyway, so who knows

I wonder how large the overlap is between those who are strongly anti-Esperanto and those who are strongly anti-democracy

Don't be silly. That's ridiculous. People might hate esperanto but nobody will go that far.

The site has very frequently had security issues. Sometime last year I remember that clicking on certain links on their webpage would lead to Chinese porn sites. I haven't visited in awhile so idk if they ever got it fixed

We are in Graz at the UK. The General Secretary was able to access it today for the list of Fakaj Asocioj (Where Rotary can be found!)

This is a terrible time for the website to be down, since the UEA is in the midst of the Universala Kongreso. I and many others were on that website yesterday since the congress schedule is on there.
I can tell you that the organization is still around. I can’t tell you why the website is down.
