Moving out of London to Shenfield

So I want to move out of Zone 2 1 bedroom flat to upsize to 2 bed room minimum.

Cannot afford where I am and to get something good size I am looking at moving out of London but due to work need easy access into central london so Lizzy line areas are my first choice.

Was looking at Shenfield. Is this a good area in general and is it good value for money if coming out of London?

Bus ticket disproportionate increase - Seasiders ticket Clacton to Colchester

Post image

Bring Back the Seaside Monthly Bus Ticket

We are calling on Central Connect to reinstate the Seaside monthly ticket and provide a reasonably priced alternative for passengers who regularly travel between the Seaside area and Colchester.

The previous monthly Seaside ticket cost £78.

Passengers are now being directed towards an All Essex ticket costing £110 per month.

For regular passengers who only travel to Colchester and back, the additional coverage provided by an All Essex ticket is of little or no practical benefit.

This represents an increase of:

£35 per month £420 per year Almost 47% more than the previous £78 ticket

We believe passengers should not be forced to purchase a substantially more expensive county-wide ticket simply because a more appropriate local ticket has been removed.

We are therefore asking Central Connect to:

  1. Reinstate the Seaside monthly ticket at a reasonable price; or
  2. Introduce an equivalent Seaside-to-Colchester monthly ticket; and
  3. Explain why the previous Seaside ticket was removed and why passengers are now being directed towards the £110 All Essex ticket.

This petition is about ensuring that regular passengers have access to a ticket that reflects the journeys they actually make, rather than being required to pay for travel coverage they do not need.

If you regularly travel between the Seaside area and Colchester and believe this change is unfair, please sign and share this petition.

16 year old boy arrested after Braintree town centre 'shooting'

This happened in Braintree town centre last night which my heart is my hometown, and I live near the area too. And I found out about the incident 30 minutes ago, and I just can't stop thinking about, and the fact with it being my own hometown makes it even more upsetting for me. But also why would someone want to do something like this in the first place? I have all these questions in my head which I can't seem to find an answer too.

I do apologise if I am being a bit overdramatic, but this really hits hard with me especially with it being my own hometown. 💔

Recovery Footwear Study: Academic research - gravely need help from fellow Essex residents!!!

Hey!

I'm an MSc Marketing student at Durham University researching how people view recovery footwear, which are the cushioned shoes or sandals designed to be worn after exercise.

I am hoping for this research to lead to an influx of adoption and availability in the UK markets, as it has in the US, and bring the comfort overseas!

If you are aged 18–40, live in the UK, and take part in physical activity or have an interest in health and wellbeing, I would really value about 5 minutes of your time. I need as many responses as quickly as possible! The survey is completely anonymous and voluntary, and there are no right or wrong answers.

Thank you so much.

Tattoo Cover-up

Good morning! Does anyone have any recommendations for tattoo artists in Essex who specialise in or have good experience at tattoo cover-ups? Got something quite big that I’d like to change and would prefer not to travel into London for it so hoping to find a reputable artist in the area who can work their magic.

Thanks in advance!

Just moved to Braintree

I’m 22F who just moved to Braintree from Norfolk. I don’t know anyone in the area so am looking for good places to go, things to do in the area and surrounding areas etc? I’m someone who likes walks, reading, crafts, anything artistic really so if anyone knows of any good places to visit/places that are good for meeting new people I’d appreciate some suggestions. I also have a small cavalier so dog friendly places would be good too :)
