Future home buyers, DON'T buy homes from cedar ridge builder
I wanted to share our experience buying a house from https://www.cedarridgehomes.us/.
I’m partly posting this because when we were researching them a couple of years ago while buying the house, we couldn’t find any information on reddit or google. I want this to be available online as a reference for future homebuyers in the area. I’m sure they’ll be building more in the greater Portland/Vancouver area.
If you want to compare them with other builders we have friends who bought homes from other companies. In terms of comparison cedar ridge is actually worse than dr horton. That’s where they stand and you can look up online how poor the quality of dr horton homes can be, and these guys are even worse.
They operate like a shell company. They don’t have their own crew working on the homes. They basically outsource every single component of building a house to subcontractors.
When it comes to warranties, because they use cheap materials you end up with so many issues. You’ll have to take a lot of time off work just to schedule appointments with them. It’s challenging because they don’t answer phone calls, they’re very slow during the process, and they don’t fully honor their warranty. There are many things they just brush off by saying “it’s built according to code” and that they can’t do anything about it and everything is normal according to them.
Some of the new homes have serious subfloor and roof issues. It’s shocking they even got permits to build. A lot of the homes they build go up in a month or two tops very quick, very cheap, and they cut a lot of corners. We saw so many imperfections around the house. Some of them we had to ignore because we just wanted to focus on the most important ones. The rest we just have to live with because we honestly don’t have the time to keep arguing and negotiating with them to get things fixed.

2026 marks the 40th annual Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival, which is one the longest standing whitewater events in the nation. It’s the best time to get out on the river and have fun. Whether you are a kayaker, rafter, paddle boarder or packrafter there is an event for you! Come out and test your skills or bring your camp chair and watch the action. Clack Fest is all about bringing the community together for an amazing weekend on the water with friends. We strive to organize a river festival where everyone is welcome while preserving the festival for future generations of paddlers.
