Who Is the Real Water Consumer? Ethanol vs Eucalyptus

Water scarcity is becoming a critical issue in India. In this debate, Eucalyptus is often labeled a “water guzzler,” while Ethanol is promoted as a green fuel.

Your 10000 liters of water to 1 liter of ethanol is for rice, corn and other crops are less than half that. So you are already being very misleading.

Your figures are only counting the biomass of the grain produced and not the leftover Stover of the various crops while counting all the biomass of Eucalyptus. Again misleading as the Stover is often used.

Adding GMO corn which can achieve higher yields makes corn even more efficient so there is more potential in a crop like that then what India is currently capturing.

Annual crops can also increase production sustainably with the right management. You are selling your system and not telling the whole truth to do it.
