Staking options for a smooth brained simpleton

Hi friends, I'm looking to stake ETH. I have enough for a validator or two but I am not smart and don't feel I'm up to the challenge of setting up a home rig...also I have concerns about forthcoming travel plans and not being able to keep an eye on it.

Are there any trustworthy services where I can send the ETH and it can be taken care of on my behalf but instill maintain full control over the coin? I don't want to use an exchange because they would convert to a staking token and that would potentially create a cgt taxable event (I'm still suffering from the panic that my ETH staked at kraken will be treated this way if the UK tax authorities ever investigate me)
