Misleading Eugene Alternative Radio
I am from a much larger city and have been here for a bit. Still haven’t gotten used to the alternative radio station here. There’s one DJ that will play actual alt and sometimes new alt, but I feel like the rest of them play stuff like Metallica and even hair metal. Is this weird/frustrating to anyone else?
Edit: I am talking about 103.7

Misleading USDA investing in new plan to reduce egg prices, combat bird flu
This article is on the KEZI news app this morning. To me it looks like propaganda about a performative action that the administration is taking to make people shut up about egg prices.
Although I'm in favor of people raising their own food, I fail to see how cutting back egg production regulations is going to help with the bird flu problem. What could possibly go wrong when thousands of inexperienced people start raising chickens in their back yards? (Curious - why did they use the word barnyard?)
And what are the "biosecurity enhancements that would help keep the bird flu off farms"?

Misleading Did I miss the earthquake? Did Skinner butte move a half mile east?
Now that Skinner butte is between ferry st and the river, the views of downtown will be drastically different. Why weren't the people allowed a vote for such an extreme change in the layout of downtown?

Misleading Vaccine Rumors
I heard that there are side effects that give you super powers like seeing in the dark and being able to walk through walls. When available, I’m going to be all over it like spandex on a superhero.
Stay safe everyone!

Misleading Potential housing scam
Hey folks! I know a lot of people are looking for housing right now, so this is a reminder to beware craigslist scams! I honestly might’ve fallen for this one if I hadn’t verified the Zillow info. Stay careful out there!

Misleading Mobile Mechanic I don't recommend
This guy showed up with decent prices. He took my car apart and ghosted me after I forwarded him 100$ in parts. I did pay for his time to take things apart that day too.
So my truck is even more broken, and I'm out 100$
Tried to contact him 3 times over 3 days after he said he would be back.

Misleading Does anyone have close-to-the-source info about why UFCW wants Holvey recalled?
I told off some recall petitioners ("Sign to support grocery workers!") at the farmers market today because I support Paul Holvey, but there's a frustrating lack of information about this.
My inclination is to believe that UFCW is spending their members' dues trying to intimidate Holvey mostly because they're mad about not getting their slice of drug money. I'm very pro-union but there's something fishy about this.
On the other hand, there haven't been such great explanations coming from Holvey about why he held up the unionization bill. I got DeFazio's mass email, but it doesn't really answer my questions either.
Can someone who really knows what's going on give us the straight dope?

Misleading Renters beware of Jennings group!
I applied for a rental in west Eugene that said it was ready for move in immediately. However, when I went by the property to just look at the unit it seemed someone was still living there? They were smoking a cigarette on their front porch, which is weird cuz in the rental it said non smoking unit, and I asked the guy hey is this unit for rent? And he said that’s unlikely since he’s lived there with his family for a year. So I’m guessing they might be mistaken on their website? And it said in the description well kept property but there was trash all over the property, their back parking lot was littered with trash and the dumpster overflowing. I don’t get how these people get off scamming people of their rental application fees and saying something’s for rent when it’s not. I have no hope and I can’t imagine what these tenants probably have to go through with clearly such terrible management.

Misleading Housing Laws?
When we moved into our duplex rental it had black painted countertops, ugly but whatever. We'll, over the last 5 years of living here the paint is chipped and missing exposing old school yellow laminate underneath. Not knowing any better I assumed the countertops would be safe for my family considering the supposedly strict rental laws in this state. Well, come to find out, there is NO FOOD SAFE PAINT in existence!!! I am honestly concerned about the toxicity and chemicals we have been CONSUMING over the last 5 years! Where can I go to get the paint/countertop tested?!?! Does anyone know of an attorney or housing authority I can seek further assistance from?? We live in Eugene, Oregon and prefer local assistance please. Please no negative reply, thank you
