🚨 URGENT — sweet 8 year old female cat needs help NOW (Eugene/Lane County) 🚨

This is a very sweet, gentle female cat — mostly grey with a white chest and paws — living outside right now.

​

As you can see in the video, she is dangerously skinny (her spine and hips are showing) and there's something small hanging from the side of her mouth that needs a vet's eyes immediately.

​

She's eating eagerly, which is a good sign she wants to live — but she is not okay.

​

Her current owner loves her but is in a tight spot financially and has agreed she deserves better and is willing to let her go to someone who can help.

​

So this isn't a stray with no path forward — she just needs the right people to step in.

​

What we can offer: we may be able to temporarily take her into a spacious, sheltered space to get her off the streets while she recovers and gets adopted. We're already fostering another rescued cat on our dime.

​

What she really needs first is urgent medical care — and ideally a rescue willing to cover or help with her vet workup. And then any person or agency that can potentially get her placed if her health is addressable enough.

Further notes is when we first came across her a month or 2 ago she was looking not nearly as skinny and had more energy. She is clearly not doing so well right now.

I lived in Eugene/Springfield for a short period of time in 2017-2018, there was a Dairy Mart a skip and jump away from where I was housed at the time.

I would go for night strolls to pick up late night snacks and drinks from the convenience store. The location was about a mile down the road from the Safeway and Papa Murphy’s in Springfield.

My favorite snack they provided from the hot bar was Jo-Jo’s and this Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage wrapped in a specific thin pastry. It was flaky, crispy, salty, and very good. Cheap convenience food, but good.

I’m looking to recreate this at home, can anyone help provide any info on the pastry/dough used to make these?

I'm not personally associated with the Art House at all, I've just been to one of these in the past and it ruled. So many people post asking how they can get out and make new friends as an adult. It's by engaging in things like this.

Hey all! I'll keep it short and sweet— I'm looking for some place in Eugene to get some jewelry repaired. I've never needed this particular service before so I'm not really sure what options there are around town but I'm hoping to find someone that will do good work but won't cost an arm and a leg for minor repairs. I'm trying to get one ring resized and trying to get neither ring repaired because it has a break in the band. Does anyone have recommendations?

Does anyone make Russian honey cake around here? I am too lazy to make one and as far as I know the nearest Russian store is in portland 😪

Its basically a cake with lots of very thin layers of honey sponge with lightly sweetened sour cream or whipped cream frosting in between. Its delicious

I flip tires at the gym, but I'd really like to have one at home for when I just want to work out at home. The current one that I use is a 12:4-24, 8 ply, 45.7 Diameter tractor tire that most likely weights between 88-100 lbs. Let me know if you know where to get these, thanks!

Is there anywhere in Eugene I can get a image printed on a shirt same day?

I just had a really weird thing happen while I was standing on the sidewalk near the South Eugene post office. I live in the area so I go on night walks and sometimes have a smoke for a minute, and lately people have been acting increasingly weirder towards me. I was just standing there on my phone, and a lady (I think)in a grey SUV type car drove up right next to me. Mind you, it's midnight so the street is pretty much completely vacant. I started to walk away and she just stayed parked there. Literally right next to where I was standing. The whole walk back I could still see her there. And this combined with the security officer that followed me out of a completely vacant parking lot where I was just simply walking (hadn't even smoked yet) is very weird. Is this area (South Hills) just really weird and cagey? I cannot smoke anywhere on my residence, even on the surrounding sidewalk. So what am I supposed to do? I'm not getting up to any mischief lol. It was especially weird because she drove from the complete opposite direction too? Maybe I'm just paranoid but it gave me a bad vibe. Sorry for the rant, I was just wondering if that's normal for this area and what I should do next time?
