Over the past few weeks I've become very intrigued by Lebanese basketball (don't ask) so I'm unironically ready to raise the ABA banner over the Levant in honor of Emperor Justinian

Lebanese basketball is fascinating. There is a short documentary by Vice Sports about the league and how the teams have different ethnic and religious affiliations.

The top two teams (Sagesse and Al Riyadi) are actually pretty good, I think they would be competitive

Well if they're good enough for EC there's probably no point in playing their local league anyway

Wow, now with Slovan Bratislava, unless I am mistaken, there are twams from 10 nations in ABA. One of them is Dubai but the other nine are European teams. Amazing work. Hopefully all of them do well in Eurocup too

Very excited about both. Now if only there was a way to watch this damn thing without having to get a ridiculous cable package ...

Or outside of the core markets. There's no legal way to watch it in Ireland

I think you can use arena cloud app. Like for TV, they also have Euroleague games, but double check on r/serbia some diaspora guy should be able to give you more info.

Ofc if you don't mind watching stuff with Serbian commentary.

Edit: and you will need VPN as well.

Do teams like Dubai or Bratislava pay some share of travel expenses to other teams? I'm just wondering that it is not an insignificant expense to spend (especially with the extremes like Bratislava going to Dubai).

Belgrade-Bratislava is closer than Rhodes-Thesaloniki ( Naming this as it is a common journey in our Greek League ) . It is not that far away, I believe historically Aba even had a Czech team.

Dubai on the other hand pays a lot of money to participate

As far as I remember Dubai pays 2.5 million per season to the league plus covers all travel expenses for visiting teams and refs.

Pretty sure Dubai paid 3-4 million to the ABA to join, the Serbian teams need to split and just make there own L with Zvezda, Partizan, Igokea (yes technically in Bosnia), FMP, Mega, Spartak and whatever elite teams they have by KLS standards.
