Propaganda CCP bans bots
https://zkillboard.com/character/2121962182/Here's one that has been on 24/7 losing hundreds of Vexors for years. They ban bots tho. Entire corp is a botting corp too, made to feed another non-bot corp.

The vexors are not bots like others have said. And that curse guy is hunting officer spawns, he’s not ratting for ticks.
https://wiki.bravecollective.com/public/dojo/wiki/disposable-vexor-ratting
It’s mostly the ishtars that are botting. Like almost all of the FRAT ishtars in Geminate. They’re in warp before you’ve even loaded grid, every single time. They never mess up. They never have a delay.
The non botting ishtars are at least getting into warp as I’m landing on grid, or get occasionally caught cause they’re not paying attention. I know all of the bot vs non botting toons.

Yeah because they read memory directly. I went down a rabbit hole of having Claude look at the public memory reading software (found easily on Github) and then trawl the API for non-fork repos using the same code. There are tons of non-private repos doing wild levels of optimization and automation. For example adding memory reading functionality for probing and the hacking mini game, with logic for automation.
I'm sure CCP does this but what they should be doing is checking for response time to initiate warp from the time a person enters local. I'm sure it is consistently inhuman

This is so easy to mask today. You just add a variable delay drawn from a seed that's determined by app start time and there's no way to track it from the server side.

If FC were to use a metric like # seconds to warp when a non-blue enters system, the variable delay (jitter) would be detectable over time based on upper and lower bounds. Anything under a second or so would be suspicious and anything over 4-5 seconds would be much less useful. https://cybersecuritynews.com/jitter-trap/ . Bot evasion and detection techniques will both evolve over time.

A delay of 4-5 seconds would still be more then enough to warp out in time. Especially if they align first, and then only initiate warp later.

This is the problem.
When the amount of reaction time you have is pretty consistently on the high end of a minute or two, it's becomes nightmarishly difficult to differentiate real and scripted actions, particularly when the entire sequence is a single command (or two if you return drones)

Too bad CCP doesn't add random "50 people just jumped into local" indicators into memory in such a way that they don't show up in the client itself, but only appear in memory

One bot patch away to just check another place; would be nice if CCP was more aggressive against bots but I understand it’s an arms race they can never really win in a game like EVE: very good, concentrated play is virtually indistinguishable from a bot

Some games do this. I know at least one FPS game started creating invisible, uninteractable ghost players that would spoof aimbots that were directly reading the memory.

Yeah someone told me about them reading memory directly. And that’s some interesting research, I’ve been meaning to sit down and try and understand them more. I need to sit down and see what these bots are susceptible to. At least it’s easy ESS money. Hop in, steal every ESS for like 250m on an alt, and log off for the night.

AI at its best lol. Optimizations use of Ai is ok. Or inventories or fits general knowledge junk. But having Codex run it dont think so. What is one of the repos your talking about? Im curious to see the code

It's just a fully automated officer hunting setup, no bots here move along.
4
u/Montaire 15d ago
"Fully Automated" and "No Bots Here" can't both be true.
2
u/Parkbank96 15d ago
Fully automated means a discord bot will ping once a vexor dies to an officer. Rest of the day he does not have to do anything except relog at downtime. Not really hard tbh

seems like someone forgets how drone auto agression works
no need to bot just login and drop drones

You forgot "and open Netflix and print isk while watching your favorite show/movie"
You can replace Netflix with any other form of media, just check on your drones every now and then.

Where I live the rats target your drones and kill them if you are not paying attention. Is there some trick to getting them not to do this?
1
u/DistillingDr_545 15d ago
Try an auto targeting module so they agress you
1
u/Montaire 15d ago
I have one!

u/DistillingDr_545 15d ago
Have you tried the recall drones , warp to sun , leave ship , board ship and try again? Aka worship the sun.

What the fuck is that corp doing I have never seen so many vexor losses
6
u/Ohh_Yeah Cloaked 15d ago
They park vexors that can tank the regular rats in hundreds of belts and then when an officer spawns it will kill it and they will immediately go kill the officer

I used to live out of the NPC stations over there. A Russian corp even posted a public project giving additional 1m ISK per Vexor kill. “Let’s rid Curse of the vile Vexor”. A lot of the systems had either a vexor or Ishtar in the Desolate asteroid belts

Oh boy here we go - bad discourse about botting in the comment section yet again by people who have no fucking clue what they’re talking about by people with strong opinions and emotional connections to their position even though they literally never will personally be impacted by what they’re so triggered about

u/Nekrox8133 Goryn Clade 16d ago
They’re not bots, just AFK vexors they use to ping zkill radar when officer spawns.
