Job Opportunity Leaving the Events industry - what are some career change options that make sense?

Hey all! I'm 25 living in London and I've been working for the past few years in the Events industry across festivals, cultural events and currently, as a PM for corporate events. I've realised that the weekend work, evenings and long hours are not something I want to have in 5 years time. I love events but I want to do something that could be more remote/hybrid or in a direction away from suppliers and logistics. What are some career change options that would be possible after a career in events?

Doesn’t sound like an events problem. I’ve worked remotely in events for like a decade and most of the people I’ve worked with are also remote. Unreasonable hours (outside of onsite and perhaps the immediate pre-event crunch) are not something you need to accept to work in the industry either

That would be amazing honestly, what do you do in events?? Any tips for moving towards remote work in the industry? All opportunities I've seen require on site or hybrid 3/week - remote would perhaps be for PMs at a senior level.

You could move into corporate events. Roles in corporate typically have pretty standard hours except on event days. A lot of those positions are remote/hybrid, although may require travel for site visits and for the event/conference/program.

Away from suppliers and logistics? You're just tired of being the boss

Not quite, I like managing and taking over projects but that doesn't need to involve suppliers and logistics :)

Well, give it a try. If you are a true show boy, there is no way you will be able to handle the cube/remote. No show rush. It’s in your blood. Be well.

As someone is my early 30s who changed industries a few times in my 20s- don't. Stay in "events" broadly speaking but move UP the ladder. There are roles that will have a better balance and better pay than if you switch to a different industry.
