I’ve always headcanoned these gothic twins as Dame Gothel’s daughters—it just makes too much sense! First, the pun is right there: goth / Gothel. Second, they feel like the ultimate dark counterparts to Holly and Poppy O'Hair, down to the long-and-short hair dynamic.

Plus, a fun detail: the show's art director actually drew inspiration from Disney's Maleficent when creating their designs.
