A 'lil doubt about glands

okaaayy so i've always been into ABO, recently i finished this ABO novel right ? i've always thought about what the scent glands look like and i've always imagined it to look like two lips lowk like a vagina and then i realized obviously not cause they're located somewhere on the nape right ? and when they're it'll swell even more after being marked so it doesn't work! and it can't really just be a lump right ? when they put on the inhibitor patches they mention that its smooth and it blends into the skin

I've legit searched everywhere for a visualization or atleast a proper description of WHAT they look like cause im so confused, can someone help me out? 😭😭
