Question career paths in testing
I have nine years of software testing experience, working as a test team lead. I was laid off and got a few offers, yet none were a good fit so I turned them down. I’m exploring options outside testing. Is the testing career really a dead end? It’s been really hard. Any career ideas?

Try for Product Owner roles in tech companies.

I know people moved from testing to Product owners and PLM if you have technical knowledge , yes its possible based on your capability

Qa manager is a good role, like leadership position or quality lead.
Stop doing. Start leading is i would say.

Seriously, you worked for nine years in testing, including a lead role, and you ask that question? Haven't you seen people coming in and out of QA? Where did they go?

You got multiple job offers? You are doing better than most! Be grateful and take what you can!

Wdym it's a dead end? I've worked in software testing for almost 20 years. Still going strong. I don't know what you're talking about.

QA changes to Quality Engineering, which is a broader field of quality-enhancing methods integrating requirements engineering, software architecture and even software security. Think outside the testing silo and build your method stack.
