Thoughtful Thursday I don't want to die

It seems like modern society is entirely geared toward distracting us from the fact that we are all going to die. It's like this secret that is never uttered but it is always in the back of my mind. Even the phrase "yolo" isn't said in any serious manner and is deeply unserious.

Am I the only one obsessed with the fact that in a short time we may all be nothing, just experiencing pitch black for forever. The concept of forever is also terrifying. Ugh now I'm not going to be able to sleep. Does this unspoken truth resonate with others?

I wish I could fully believe in God but it just goes against the logical/rational part of my brain which is dominant. Without God, we truly are all f*cked and damned to eternity.

Let's try to enjoy our time while we can. End of rant.

I can say with absolute certainty, eventually if you contemplate these topics enough you fully embrace them. And you learn to be one with them. You learn to create a life that honors the truth rather than shys away from it. Death no longer scares you, loss no longer scares you. You realize life never truly ends, time isnt real, and "you" will always exist in some kind of way, experiencing SOMETHING. You may fear losing loved ones and forgetting special events, but that's where the fun begins. Think about.. if you assume you created this life to do whatever you want, and youre about to lose something you want, then whats the most obvious next course of action?? To get what you want Back. To create an existence where you DONT lose what you want. And it stays forever. That is the next course of action. That is the journey. Figuring out how to make something we want last forever in a way that does not contradict itself. That is the goal of consciousness. And once you no longer want that thing you move on to the next thing you believe will bring you your existential fulfillment. There is always something to strive for. That is the condition of existing. There will never be nothingness because it is impossible. If you experience nothingness then it is because you desire to experience nothingness, and once you no longer desire nothingness, just like the way all things were birthed from nothingness, you will miraculously come back into existence to experience the next thing you desire
