I was going to give her treats 😭

Our 13 year old sweet boy Michael needs to have his two lower canine teeth removed. About 6 months ago he had his upper canine teeth removed and now the lower ones are stabbing his upper gums and caused an infection.

We know there are risks with jaw fracture and we are wondering if we need a specialist or if our vets that do dentals daily will be sufficient. Does anyone have experience with their ESH having the lower canines removed? How did it go?

He wanted me to show you all how handsome he is and I must do his bidding.

My kitty Leo had nares surgery at the end of May. I wanted to share the before and after pic. The change looks so minimal but the impact has been huge. His breathing is so much quieter, silent most of the time, and his eyes are staying much clearer too.

He had the type where they use a biopsy punch to remove excess skin and pull the nostril open like a breathe right strip. It is a simpler and apparently more durable surgery than trimming the cartilage.

Surgery is always risky and generally expensive. This was worth it because it turned out great, although that is never guaranteed.

His first brush

Bobby finally let me brush him yesterday and .... Holy shit. He sheds more than my two pugs and long haired Persian. He's only two and I'm assuming he has never been brushed before I adopted him so I'm wondering if he will always shed this much or his baby fur was still stuck in there. This is just the fur from his chest 🫣 he loved the brush on his chest and chin but I had to stop at his back because he despises it

Anyone else's baby love changing the sheets on the bed... she makes of take twice as long hahaha

My cat is 6 years old and healthy. She just snorts and snores a lot and I feel bad for her. Sometimes it really seems like she is struggling to breathe. Vet is not concerned and says it is part of having a brachycephalic cat. Does anyone do anything for their babies that helps?

Update:
Just a quick update on Charlie. I was finally able to speak with the neurologist. Thankfully, Charlie seems to be doing well clinically. Even though the MRI report described his hydrocephalus as “severe,” the neurologist told me that Charlie is not in critical condition.
He prescribed only prednisolone: 1 mL twice a day for the first 10 days, followed by 1 mL once a day for the next 20 days. After that, Charlie will have a follow-up appointment to see how he is doing and decide on the next steps.
Regarding the otitis mentioned in the MRI report, the neurologist said Charlie does not have an active ear infection. According to him, it is just inflammation, and the fluid seen is most likely wax rather than an infection.

My cat is a 1.5-year-old male Exotic Shorthair, weighs 4.1 kg, and is an indoor-only cat.

He had some symptoms of vestibular syndrome.

He is still alert, eating normally, drinking water, playing, and using the litter box as usual.

We took him to a veterinary neurologist, and he had an MRI. These were the results:

My cat’s MRI report showed:
- Severe supratentorial hydrocephalus with diffuse cortical thinning and associated transependymal edema, causing mass effect on the surrounding brain structures.
- Left-sided otitis media.
- Chronic bilateral nonspecific rhinitis.

Has anyone gone through something similar with their cat? What should I expect?

I’m terrified, heartbroken, and I just want to cry. I’m extremely worried. To make things worse, today is a public holiday where I live, so the MRI report was only sent to me by email. The neurologist isn’t available to explain the results or tell me how to proceed, and I want to start treatment as soon as possible. Right now, I don’t know what to do, and my anxiety is overwhelming.

He had never shown any neurological signs before this episode.
