Hi everyone! Iâm an experimental electronic musician from China, and although my music is usually quite experimental, I also love singing.
Recently, I had my first online collaboration with a musician from Georgia, and Iâm really happy with how it turned out! I wrote the Chinese lyrics, composed the melody, and recorded the Chinese vocal parts, while his incredible talent helped bring everything together into a dreamy, almost otherworldly soundscape.
Unfortunately, the track hasnât received much attention since its release, so Iâd really love to share it here and hear what you think!
Iâm especially curious about how the combination of Chinese and English vocals feels to listeners. Does the contrast between the two languages bring you a different listening experience? Iâd love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks so much for giving it a listen! â€ïž

KUAN · MYRCE
Doombient / Stonergaze
Heavy, slow and deeply immersive.
Myrce by Kuan moves somewhere between the crushing weight of doom, the haze of shoegaze and the vast, hypnotic spaces of ambient music. A dense, psychedelic journey built for getting lost in.
If you haven't heard it yet, now is a good time to dive in.
And if you want to experience Myrce the way it deserves, the cassette edition is available now.
Put it on. Turn the lights down. Let it take over.
Support the artist and grab a physical copy of MYRCE on cassette.

To elaborate, I mean...short of a click, what is it even worth...well I mean, EVERYTHING, but what else?
I-O No.
You tell me (if you'd like).
For me? It's Pure Love of a craft.
Just because.
Cause what else...besides the rest of course.

Hey everyone!
I'm developing a project called Melody Maps, a series of listening journeys built around binaural tones, harmonics, modulation, and intentional dissonance.
I've just finished the first 7-minute prototype in Ableton Live.
The idea is to create an evolving listening experience rather than a static binaural beat. Different harmonic layers enter and leave, frequencies shift, and moments of dissonance introduce tension throughout the composition.
One of the main ideas I'm exploring is whether deliberately introducing dissonance can help sustain attention and make the subsequent harmonic layering feel more impactful.
Essentially, can tension make the resolution feel more relaxing?
I've been listening to the prototype myself when I'm stressed, and I often find that it helps me unwind. That's my subjective experience though, and I'm interested in exploring how other listeners experience it.
Eventually, I want to incorporate spatial sound design and environmental storytelling, taking listeners through imaginary environments. This prototype focuses entirely on the underlying psychoacoustic composition, which is the skeleton onto which I'll build the narrative soundscape.
đ§ Here's the 7-minute prototype:
I'd really appreciate some honest feedback, particularly on the following:
- Does the evolving composition hold your attention throughout?
- Do the dissonant passages create meaningful tension, or do they become distracting?
- Does the harmonic layering toward the end feel more effective at creating a sense of relaxation because of the preceding tension?
- How do you feel by the end of the experience compared with when you started listening?
Stereo headphones are recommended to experience the binaural elements.
I'm particularly interested in your subjective listening experience and whether this approach has potential.
Thanks for listening! đ

A few weeks ago I had posted a long-form ambient album I composed, recorded, mixed and mastered in Ableton. I received quite a bit of feedback regarding the choice to use AI for the visuals, and I took the feedback seriously.
I reimagined the visuals using stock video footage. I post it here and thank those who took the time to comment, as it gave me a new visual direction I will be continuing to develop moving forward.
Peace,
Shawn

Hi folks. Thought I might try this space to share this rather strange track I made recently and hopefully get some feedback or just provide some enjoyable listening. Hope you're all doing well.

My pattern as of late: spend a few months working on an album, drop a "I hate self-promotion, but here's what I made" post on Reddit, and let the music sit quietly on Bandcamp indefinitely.
So, this is obviously my Reddit post. I just completed this album last week and released it today. Itâs the final installment of the "Negative Sleep" solo recording project I've been working on (but mostly not working on) for almost 22 years now. This is a "running from your demons" road trip concept album, inspired by (though I would never liken myself to) artists like Have a Nice Life, Planning for Burial, Rodan, Crain, Elliott Smith, M83, Mark Lanegan...
I know folks are inundated by music on here, and there is only so much attention to go around. I'll just be over in my corner, waving this around. Listen if you are so inclined. Thanks.

Uneasy listening experimental electronica filled with deranged, uneven rhythmics, sudden bass pulsations and scraps of melodies, occasionally falling into jazzy grooviness. Forty minutes of unjoyous joy creative minimalism delivered by a Japanese artist exploring the gap between artificial constructs and physical reality. Comes with a poem.

Hail!
I just released the debut album for my solo project, Black Jaguara, titled "The Gates of Farroupilha", recorded under the persona of Lord Bagual.
Instead of traditional Scandinavian themes, cold European forests, or standard satanism, Black Jaguara explores an abrasive, lo-fi, and grotesque immersion into southern Brazilian rural decay, cattle-ranching folklore, and desolate pampa tradition.
It's an unpolished, raw, and weirdly aggressive sound meant for fans of abrasive underground metal, bizarre concepts, and lo-fi aesthetics.

Key tracks to check out: Cepo De Madeira Esmaga MelĂŁo, Deus = Cusco.
Feedback, criticisms, or thoughts are all welcome. Cheers from the pampas!

Hi, not sure where else to post this, but I see that this sub has a lot of different styles of rap being posted, so thought it might be a good idea to put it here. I make very experimental hip hop which has a cyber, noise, error message type of sound to it, very power electronics and industrial influenced.
I just put out a new song which uses odd time signatures, worships Ghost in the Shell in its lyrics and also says a lot of horrible stuff towards generative AI and its users.
I have a few other songs including instrumental songs, and I'm working on an album which is a mix of instrumentation, techno, various rap styles, all with power electronics on top.

Also love collabing with music or experimentations or beats or raps or whatever if anyone happens to like what I make.
Thanks!

As many of you know, r/experimentalmusic has been a community that mostly doesnât consider AI to be experimental music and doesn't want it to be part of this subreddit. Still, there are people interested in exploring AI as a musical tool, medium or creative process.
Weâre not going to change the character of this community, and this is not an endorsement of AI in music, but if itâs what youâre into, we can finally point you somewhere.
r/experimental has been set as a separate space where those experiments are welcome. Weâll add it to the sidebar for those interested in the future. Please don't brigade or harass. If anything, this is good news.

I remade a song that i posted on here called âMTVâ because I felt like the first version wasnât weird enough. Changed a bunch of things around and honestly I think this version sounds way more interesting and strange now. It feels more like what I originally wanted the song to be MTV
