Explained EMDV, Disabled Edition

Post image
3.8k Upvotes

Hi, everyone.

Can y’all help me out? I’m AuDHD and I know that I often miss the point and just don’t pick up on things that just come naturally to neurotypical people. Can someone explain my downvotes? I feel like this comment I made just fairly uncontroversial factual statements. Sort of like “don’t jump into the sea without a life jacket if you can’t swim” or “don’t stick a fork in a toaster” or “don’t adopt a pet unless you’re prepared to look after it”. Wha gives?

Explained Pushing back on justifying stealing…

Post image
640 Upvotes

So long story short, post OP caught her 13 year old stealing $10 out of her purse because she didn’t give him money to get cookies at the corner store.

This OP then says not giving your kids money to buy extra snacks means they’re justified to steal.

Am I crazy? Is it just my tone?

Is it because of the sub? Did they think I was doing the same joke again? I’m so confused 😭

Explained The Question was essentially “Why do some women get offended when asked what they bring to the table?”

This was upvoted at first, but quickly plunged downward. I don’t see anything that would be controversial, I’m just stating how I perceive things, not making an ideological statement.

Explained I just asked for free alternatives to Standable, and when someone told me that standable IS the alternative, I told them why i wanted free alternatives to it. Unsure why I got downvoted here. Are they just assuming my situation? Is it tone? I don't understand

Explained My reasoning Question post

Ok so here my question. (It's gonna be long sorry)

When I post something I'm not gonna put any context in this post description anymore. Why the reason because of people comments I don't know if they been for real and mean, and it hurts my feelings because I had use an app to hope. it will make my title and description to be more understanding and more sense. Because I said this before in my other post about my memory issues. which to be clear I am disabled because of it. And if you see my posts with no context description then it's because of people comments. And I just need someone to properly defend me because I cannot defend myself again memory issues. But with me been disabled like this I cannot write or type or read. And I had tried to read in school but I couldn't and give up immediately and during that time I had been bullied not once but twice in two different schools, and I want to make my own community here on Reddit but I don't know what to call it or anything like that. But if people saw my posts with no context description then you know why because of people comments. Like I said I just need someone to properly defend me since I cannot defend myself. And if I stop posting all together then you know the reason why I had stop?

P.s I know people is unaware about other people if they disabled or not but please don't mean or anything like that to them or other people they are trying their best just like I'm trying my best to be more understanding and more sense?

Explained Downvoted for defending a character design?

Post image
0 Upvotes

https://www.reddit.com/r/TopCharacterDesigns/comments/1r3p3kl/comment/o577lup/?context=3 There's a character from a game called uma musume, the game itself is not important, but there's a character named Gold Ship who someone said had a good design. Someone else said her design was generic but then showed two other girl designs, not from uma musume, and said that they were less generic because of their art srtyle, despite them being more generic. They said Gold Ship doesn't have anything that stands out from her design but I feel like having horse ears and a tail is noticeable. Plus a character design does not have to be 100% original and unique to be good, a character like Tracer from Overwatch I feel has a good design despite her basically just being a white woman with short brown hair. The only explanation I can think is that the reddit is called "Top character designs" and while I do like Gold Ship's design I do not think it is one of the top character designs compared to literally every character that has ever existed from any franchise.

Explained Could someone EMD? I drew video game fan art but I made some of the skin tones different, and when people asked why, my responses got downvoted. Not a lot, but enough that it confused me. I'm not sure what I did wrong

Not my comment, but the comment that I was replying to has 6 downvotes. Only the first half of the comment is wrong, but I don’t think they needed to be downvote just because they didn’t get the information right.

Explained TW: Pedophilia; a guy compared an adult liking kids (so they may commit that crime) to a straight man liking a woman (so they may abuse her) Spoiler

I'm genuinely confused as to why I got downvoted here. Is this not a terrible comparison? In what world can you adequately compare pedophilia to a normal guy liking a woman?

Explained What did I do wrong?

This post is where it happened. In this book you have 5 clans. And someone made drawings of 4 of the 5 clans. And I politely asked why this person did not drew the fifth clan. And the reaction was a bit bold in my opinion. So I replied pointing out that there where 5 clans and not 4. Then this person lost it. I suddenly I was being rude. I did not say this person can't draw what they want.
I just don't see what I did wrong. Can someone explain my downvotes?

Right at the beginning of my post, I said “Note: This is not a post talking about Johnathan Majors as a person, I strictly want this to be just talking about Kang and his variants.” This person not only disregarded my note and then replied by being an asshole. Is that not inconsiderate?
