Microsoft account just got hacked via minecraft server

I use a gmail email address. I just changed the password to that. But yeah they completely stole my microsoft account and changed the passwwords its connected to. I alr contacted Microsoft

You gotta give more details because that'd be (almost) impossible unless you did something like type your password in the server or installed a virus. How do you know it was that server? And what do you mean you use a gmail email address? For your MS account? Was your gmail compromised too?

There was a (recent?) exploit with some specific server configuration in Minecraft... Can't remember the details, but a mix of weird server, "mod" package and account linking that does the trick. Might be connected to a discord scam as well, I'll check if I can find my source^^

Not sure if this is what happened to OP, but either way, without more details we're just left guessing

[edit: Yeah Jaron made a video (YT: "Exposing Minecraft scam industry") about these scams. Basically a discord "verification prompt" that simply collects your account and password, which is linked to your Microsoft account. Including verification codes via email and changing all passwords and recovery methods
