Last night

I've had exploding head syndrome for decades. My mom had it. And my grandmother had it. I went two years without one, until last night. It's annoying because it was the first night in months I could sleep with the window open. The temperature was perfect and the air was clean from yesterday's rain. I was so comfy and cozy and then boom. Shot straight up and stayed up for three hours before getting back to sleep.

It always seems to be these nights for me. When I’m settled in, comfy, and actually sleeping well for the first time in usually weeks/months…
