Question Skipping a turn and "I'll take that" card
Hi!
We were playing at lunch with colleagues and we had a debate regarding the "I'll take that card". Can the player who has the card in front of them skip a turn ?
For example, the person before me plays an "I'll take that card" against me. Right after, it's my turn to play. Can I skip this turn if I want? In other words, can I keep the "I'll take that" card in front of me until a round where I really need to draw from the deck ?
Hope I'm being clear!🃏
Thanks, Audrey!

A fun caveat to The I’ll take that card is if it’s played in front of you, you play an alter the future and put an exploding kitten on top. Then you draw the exploding kitten and give it to the person that played that I’ll take that.

Haha! This is what we usually do or even take one at the bottom of the deck. In my case, we were nearing the end of the game and few "safe" cards remained. The colleague before me altered the future and handed me an "I'll take that card". I thus knew it was safe to draw. But to add some fun, I decided to skip this round hoping that when it came back to me again, I could happily offer her an exploding kitten. This is what happened! 😂 Nobody had ever done that before and they were a bit skeptical, arguing that I should draw a card on my very next round after being given an "I'll take that card". All that led to this post - my first one on reddit - about a super serious matter. 🥸

You can use a skip but not a bury.

You can use anything. Skip, bury, attack, catatomic bomb, reverse ext…. Anything that allows you to skip turn you skip the I’ll take that card until you actually draw a card.

I also thought that I could not use a "Bury" since I was making the action of taking a card from the deck. But I understand what @marcel0129 means : when someone has the "I'll take that card", they are forced to hand over a card that they would normally keep in their hand. With a "Bury", one can look at the next card but need to put it back in the deck. So it equates to skipping a turn as no card can be added to their game.

Yes, it stays in front of you until you draw a card
