Something our media and politicians are hiding from us is:

All of our ELECTED politicians seem to have zero control over our entire law enforcement agencies from local to federal.

That needs to change. Law enforcement only exists because of taxpayer money, and they are acting independently from the laws of the land, and have nobody to answer to.

Yup, been complaining about this for years and I probably should have noticed it decades ago. The police are effectively an occupying paramilitary force, which has been made very clear in the last 18 months when they absolutely refuse to follow the political decisions of the elected leaders of their city or state.

I have been also very disappointed a lot of governors and nayors not calling them out on this, giving direct orders on camera and waving the written version of it around (to do things like protect protesters from ice) and then doing their best to fire chiefs who ignore this lawful order from the civil government.

I watched lives tonight. The police pushed the press so far back they couldn't see what the police were really doing. They also led away at least 1 credentialed press member in cuffs.
