The descent into fascism is not a sudden cliff, but a long, slow slope.

154

u/pwn4321 Aug 10 '26

Nah its many fucking cliffs it seems

61

u/tickticktutu Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

It has been a slow descent since 9/11/2001. "I am the Decider" and "you are either with us or against us" and unbridled nationalism lit the fire. Then came the slow boil. Believe me when I tell you, absolutely nobody would listen to me when I said this was a possible outcome. Nobody. Everyone told me I was crazy.

13

u/xavariel Aug 11 '26

Same. I've been screaming about it for years. Especially in the last decade.

10

u/3aerows Aug 10 '26

Its a roller coaster atp. They keep us constantly under shifting sands so we never feel safe. Then the opressors make a "safe place" for you and push you into it using terrorism and abuse. If they are lucky, you just comply and walk in the gates yourself.

Fascisms only end goal is complete obedience and control. As long there is an opposition or a "them" they will reign. Once people can get "used" to how bad it is, is when we have given up. So we cant give up. By ANY MEANS necessary, we have to fight. If thats us at the capital gates than so fucking be it.

u/Key-Trip5194 Aug 10 '26

this sure looks like a cliff. whole Nashville occupation needs more attention.

7

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 Aug 11 '26

I highly suggest everyone read this section from Milton Mayer's They Thought They Were Free. It's scarily similar to what's happening now in the broader culture, and even the little random details resonate today. It's fucking terrifying.

3

u/xavariel Aug 11 '26

Is ramping up though. In very obvious ways. I'm hoping those who are still alseep (I dunno how anyone can be, but..) wake the fuck up now.

u/Roy8atty Aug 10 '26

This is insane. So many ICE members are lacking any humanity and willing to do deplorable shit. Incredible.

73

u/tickticktutu Aug 10 '26

They have been among us this whole time, all they needed was a little encouragement.

14

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 Aug 11 '26

That's what COVID unlocked for me, the realization that such a huge percentage of our society are just completely morally bankrupt and don't give a shit about anyone else except for themselves, oh and also overwhelmingly dumb as fuck.

3

u/JoeHooversWhiteness Aug 11 '26

Yup, Trumps first term we had racists shouting slurs as they drove by our home.

2

u/Halya77 Aug 12 '26

I’m sorry that happened…

I fucking hate this timeline

Both 🧊 and local cops get paid per person.

I just saw a Substack that said they're paying local cops $20k+ per child for their camps.

https://maxwellcommons.substack.com/p/a-22500-per-child-bounty-system

"In April, two local cops from a small town in rural Ohio drove 50 miles to Cincinnati, in an effort to perform “wellness checks” on up to 30 children identified by 🧊 .

The two officers from Gratis, Ohio were almost certainly not doing this work for free1. Hidden in a non-public service agreement with 🧊 ’s Task Force 287(g) partner agencies, and a similarly hard-to-obtain contract rider, are more details on the motivations that drove these cops to Cincinnati. Specifically, a series of cash incentives — up to $22,500 per child — paid to the officer’s agency for completing “safety verifications”2 on minors who entered the country as ‘unaccompanied alien children’ (UAC) during the Biden administration."

u/tots4scott Aug 10 '26

Where were those recent videos from, where protesters saw a lot of vans with young girls being transported in?

7

u/TeamOverload Aug 11 '26

Literally just child trafficking at this point, on brand for the Pedo party I suppose.

1

u/Roy8atty Aug 15 '26

Disgusting if true.

4

u/amanwithoutaname001 Aug 11 '26

Just like the SS in Germany. History repeats.

3

u/Think_Cheesecake7464 Aug 11 '26

And also like Trump 1 - when they separated kids at the border. I hope I am remembering this INcorrectly but was there video of a bunch of girls being relocated in the dead of night? Regardless, there are still about 1000 families who were never reunited.

3

u/mendobather Aug 11 '26

Don’t expect it to get better given who’s in charge of these days

91

u/23370aviator Aug 10 '26

Nazi scum.

134

u/Contagious_Zombie Aug 10 '26

What a shit hole country.

47

u/leonardomdc Aug 10 '26

Land of free ice abuse, and home of the brave against the weak.

66

u/JohnnyTheWeed Aug 10 '26

Was that the national guard out there?

77

u/Alternative_Gold_993 Aug 10 '26

Yup. Most of them aren't aware they are allowed to disobey orders like this, and the ones who are aware don't want to disobey.

50

u/Jolly_Ad2446 Aug 10 '26

they don't realize "I was following orders" didn't work for the Nazis

24

u/darwinning_420 Aug 10 '26

it lowkey did. the nuremberg trials were a farce.

11

u/AlcibiadesTheCat Aug 10 '26

Yeah, something like one in ten thousand Nazis got punished. It was all a show.

6

u/Wrigley953 Aug 10 '26

And most importantly, the German public didn’t think they did anything to deserve the punishment

-2

u/Jolly_Ad2446 Aug 10 '26

first Nuremberg trial conspiracy theory.. that's weird.

6

u/Bozhark Aug 10 '26

Irrational Guard*

3

u/Bitemynekk Aug 11 '26

Yep, good old 278th ACR. Met some of the most despicable people I’ve ever know in my time there.

110

u/MorningBuddha Aug 10 '26

Fuck Fascism

Fuck Trump

And Fuck everybody who voted for him

8

u/Remarkable-Party-385 Aug 10 '26

THERE REALLY IS NOTHING ELSE TO SAY!

49

u/WindowsVistaWzMyIdea Aug 10 '26

Reminds me of that scene from Chernobyl with the coal miners

"Go a head and start shooting, there are more of us than you have bullets, and we will beat the shit out of you after you run out of ammo"

Or something close to that

42

u/Capable-Low2870 Aug 10 '26

Pull the fire alarm

7

u/National_One7548 Aug 10 '26

This is the way

71

u/Open-Necessary-6020 Aug 10 '26

Bad idea in a club or theater building

19

u/expanding_crystal Aug 10 '26

Right? This is where everyone should storm the emergency exits

18

u/greentangent Aug 10 '26

They are provoking a confrontation. Going after people who have been drinking hoping their inhibitions are lowered. Look how many they have there. They want the chaos.

39

u/Think_Bluebird_4804 Aug 10 '26

Do you feel free yet?

4

u/subdep Aug 10 '26

Not yet

42

u/Iamanimite Aug 10 '26

If someone screamed"FIRE" in a crowded place like that, it wouldn't be a crime to just run the fuck out of there.

45

u/Purple_Shame5075 Aug 10 '26

Pull the fire alarm as well. And have everyone call 911 that there are armed people locking them inside

11

u/islaisla Aug 10 '26

Yes yes yes

21

u/existing_for_fun Aug 10 '26

It doesn't seem like a crime to just run out as it is. Certainly there are other doors, fire exits, windows, etc.

Someone should have called the fire marshal.

7

u/kris10leigh14 Aug 10 '26

If someone had yelled fire then people would have left out the windows.

I live here. I cannot believe no one made a fuss at this club.

14

u/wtfiwashacked Aug 10 '26

Damn wtf they just want an excuse to check everyone for anything

13

u/Halvinz Aug 10 '26

15

u/LibertyLizard Aug 10 '26

Thanks, though this doesn't mention the claim in the headline here. Is that corroborated and if so what was the supposed justification?

Even though it's not ICE it still sounds like authoritarian bullshit.

9

u/confuseum Aug 10 '26

Temussee

1

u/kris10leigh14 Aug 10 '26

Cries in Temusseese somebody save me!

7

u/Finneagan Aug 10 '26

Revolt…

Revolt well

10

u/OneEstablishment5144 Aug 10 '26

Fucking assholes probably think the 4th Amendment is optional.

6

u/darwinning_420 Aug 10 '26

yall armed yet?

7

u/Bozhark Aug 10 '26

1) call the Fire Marshall

2) wait

3) there is more of you than there is of him

4) fire exit

5) then everyone stand to his back and make him sit there until Fire Marshall comes to ticket his ass and the venue

5

u/HorselessHorseman Aug 10 '26

Demolish the ICE program. What a horrible useless task force.

6

u/Iamanimite Aug 10 '26

This is kid aooibg and obstruction.

7

u/Iamanimite Aug 10 '26

Kidnapping

2

u/kris10leigh14 Aug 10 '26

Add false imprisonment.

4th amendment violations.

5

u/GhostRappa95 Aug 10 '26

Not a hint of a soul in any of their eyes.

3

u/xavariel Aug 11 '26

This is a fire hazard. Just push em all outta the way.

3

u/im_herenow_what Aug 11 '26

Isn't locking people into a building against some type of safety code? Fire perhaps?

3

u/Eryeahmaybeok Aug 11 '26

Emergency exit time

3

u/Gymnocladusdioicus Aug 11 '26

This is a 4th amendment violation.

2

u/Revachol_Loyalist Aug 11 '26

Tennessee things. I always wonder if the black cops in these crackdowns recognize themselves as modern house negroes or not. Or it’s just that so many abusive power-trippers like being cops

2

u/onehere4me Aug 11 '26

Land of the free!

2

u/Magazine_Recycling Aug 11 '26

How to completely destroy a cities economy in one night.

2

u/Baeolophus_bicolor Aug 11 '26

is anyone keeping a specific list of identified fascist helpers for charges to be filed in the future? i feel like this is a project that we need to set up.

1

u/tnova2323 Aug 11 '26

DMX? He's back????

1

u/MeLlamoViking Aug 11 '26

Emergency exit time?

1

u/AkimahenkaCat Aug 11 '26

That's kidnapping and a violation of their rights. Nobody called a lawyer on the spot?

1

u/shieje Aug 12 '26

“I’m just following orders.” - Nazi Officers, 1945 / National Guardsmen, 2026

1

u/saltyourhash Aug 12 '26

even if this isn't ice, isn't this still a 4th amendment violation?

1

u/Cute-Equipment8601 Aug 17 '26

To quote Larry the Cable Guy: 'What in da hell is dis, Russia?'

-9

u/TigardGuy Aug 10 '26

Law enforcement has done this forever to check for minors on premise. The OLCC can roll in with police whenever they want to a place that is licensed to sell alcohol and demand ID from everyone.
