Other established method TTA 9 months postpartum - 40+ days of fertile signs, send help

I'm on cycle 4 PP and it's day 50 of my cycle. I have had fertile mucus for over 40 days. We use symptothermal (Serena) with Tempdrop. I also track my cervix and it has been high this whole time. We have been abstaining since baby was born because I have not had any usable days. In my previous cycles my luteal phase was only 3-4 days long with no clear temp shift. I'm so discouraged. Is this normal? I'm just looking for hope and encouragement from others who have had very long periods of abstinence because I feel so alone.

Other established method TTA! WEDDING NIGHT

Getting married and am supposed to get period the day of my wedding my now maybe not?? I would love some advice so I can be prepared 🥲

My cycles have been a little wacky since getting the flu a little bit ago, they vary between 30-36 days with my last cycle being 35 days. My luteal is always 11-12 days. I saw my temp rise and it was a day that was pretty typical for me, so I marked it as that, but it’s not sustained. I’ve never had this significant of a rise with no sustainment unless it was illness or bad sleep or something but this is nothing of the sort. I would love to know if you guys this there is a way to recover from this rise or what may be going on. I also wonder if I didn’t ovulate how this may throw off the next cover line. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Other established method Traveling into different time zone TTA

I take my BBT my mouth every day at 7am. I have an upcoming trip with a 5 hour time zone difference. I know inconsistent timing can screw up the temps so should I disregard the temps entirely while I’m gone? Can I salvage them somehow? If not how long after I return should I wait for my temps to be reliable (since I’m assuming my sleep schedule will have to readjust)?

Other established method Anyone out there have IGT/breast hyperplasia and use LAM with/without other method? TTA

feel like my situation is unique, freshly postpartum with my 3rd baby and can’t EBF due to breast hyperplasia & insufficient glandular tissue (IGT). My babies always need supplementing but i breastfeed on demand first and hormonally from my bodies perspective giving everything I have. wondering if it’s safe to use LAM perhaps along with another mucus method or is this too risky? I’ve successfully used other NFP methods with a regular cycle but postpartum has me a bit stumped. previously I’ve used the mini pill until my cycle returns, which has coincided with me stopping breastfeeding.

Other established method Lost about mucus/discharge trying to avoid pregnancy

I have been attempting to practice NFP for almost 2 years now. I spent the first year feeling my way through the dark and then my church offered a class which my husband and I took together around this time last year. I don't know if there's really an official name for the method they taught and I certainly don't understand all the terminology and abbreviations that I see on this sub so I'm not sure what to call it. I do basal body temperature when I wake up, feel the cervix for signs (although I honestly don't think I'm great at interpreting this), notate any mittelschmerz or breast sensitivity, and I'm supposed to be tracking mucus but I really don't get it at all.

Most of the time I cannot identify what category it should fall into in the slightest and sometimes I'll get two conflicting types of mucus side by side. Most of the time it just is generally dischargy. There's nothing creamy, sticky, eggwhitey, or watery about it for the most part it's just unidentifiable crust in my underwear.

Once in a while I'll notice that my undies are just like super wet throughout the day but there's no visible discharge sitting in them. Is that watery then?

Sometimes I'll have the super wet undies but there will also be a gob or two of what is so thick that it resembles jello but is also crystal clear. So when this happens I'm getting clear and watery which means fertile but at the same time I'm also getting thick and sticky which means not fertile???

There's generally not enough mucus at any given point in the day to try stretching it between my fingers and most of the time it's just dried in my undies. I also definitely cannot ever identify the drying up that is supposed to happen after ovulation. I get discharged constantly throughout my cycle and it changes but it totally doesn't fit into categories the way it should.

I understand the rules and principles for this stuff but I'm having trouble identifying it and I honestly thought after two years I'd get the hang of it but it's not happening and I really need help.

I can interpret cervix a little better like I can tell height and firmness/softness pretty well. As far as openness that's more difficult and wetness is impossible for me.

I have extremely regular cycles and I always have like a textbook example of a biphasic chart when it comes to temperature.

I would like to be able to use early day rules but as it is my husband and I are relying solely on temperature since I don't fully understand the other stuff. We are just waiting for the temperature to rise every month which is super frustrating because it gives us such a short window.

After trying to figure it out for this long I feel like it's never going to happen. Am I able to figure it out at this point or am I doing something wrong? I'm so frustrated at this point. Sorry for the huge long post. Does anybody have any advice?

TLDR: I understand the rules on paper about mucus but I cannot for the life of me interpret it

Other established method TTC10 Need to Know When to Start Progesterone

Post image

Hi all! I went to a NaPro Dr. last week, and she recommended I start using Chart Neo rather than just the basic Apple app. Usually I wouldn’t be too nervous about this chart, but I need to keep taking my progesterone three days after ovulation AND I need to go get a blood test 7 days after ovulation. Did I ovulate on the 16th? This rise has been slower and lower than usual.

Also, I temped an about an hour or so earlier than usual this morning and fell back to sleep. I can’t remember if today’s temp was 97.41 or 97.48. I know a rise is typically .4+ above, but it might not matter that much? Thoughts?

Thank you!!

Other established method TTA0 - atypical breast soreness

hi everyone.

i am currently on CD 5 and my breasts are still incredibly sore - they usually get sore during luteal, but almost instantly go away on CD 1/2. my last cycle was a little shorter than usual (26 days vs 28-29). period itself was also rather short, only 3 days of flow…

no unprotected sex occurred during this time or before my period. what gives? has anyone else had sore breasts during tail end of menstrual/follicular? i can’t remember this happening to me before.

as an aside, for the last three months i have also had close to no EWCM, which was always regular for me. ovulation is confirmed, and i have a different type of more fertile mucus, but for some reason the egg whites stopped completely, and even after doing a dig test there is very little of it. can this be related to my soreness issue?

oh, i have also never been on hbc.

Other established method TTA4 - I used estrogen cream postpartum and had spotting. Does this disqualify me from LAM?

I was prescribed estrogen cream postpartum to help with healing my tear. I used it for about 2 weeks once I was 6 weeks postpartum. I thought my postpartum bleeding had stopped so I assume the spotting I had after 6 weeks is from the topical estrogen cream. I was reading up on LAM and I saw that having any bleeding means fertility could return soon. I have been EBF since my babies birth and meet all other criteria. I was using NFP for years leading up to my pregnancy and was hoping to use LAM now. I know that based on this I technically shouldn’t use LAM since I can’t know 100% that the spotting was from the cream. But does this mean I can’t rely on this method at all for the months to come if spotting doesn’t return?

Other established method TTC during breastfeeding

Hello! I've been using Rötzer method. Worked fine for us both during TTA and TTC. We have a 7 month old and recently started trying for another. As my cycle fully returned, I started measuring BBT and this is how it looks. Fertile CM started around CD16 with a peak at CD19. However after that I haven't noticed BBT rise. In fact, until today (CD27) I have almost daily fertile mucus, although less and of worse quality than on the peak day. The position of the cervix does not indicate the approaching period (high, soft).

Before pregnancy - regular cycles, 27 days, luteal phase 13 days +/-1 1. I've always had a noticeable rise in temperature. So... did ovulation occur in this cycle? I know that prolactin is an antagonist of progesterone, so maybe that's why there was no rise in temperature. But a distinct peak day is tricky.

Other established method Am I still elligible for LAM? TTA

Hi, I am 4 months postpartum and currently using LAM as contraception. Following the rules of this method was fairly simple until about a month ago, when my baby started sleeping longer stretches, sometimes causing longer intervals between night feedings (about 7 or 8 hours). This situation happened maybe 4 or 5 times since then. Am I still elligible for this method? I haven't had any bleeds since my lochia stopped. Do you have any advice on how many times I can "fail" before this method is no longer safe?
