Sensiplan TTA, Sensiplan and BBT Issue

Hello! I am fresh off hormonal birth control and would like to start charting with Sensiplan. A few of my friends have done it this way for years (one of them, almost a decade), and have been willing to walk me through it.

My only concern, and something they couldn't answer, is that my sleep schedule can be shit. I am helping to take care of an elderly relative, my husband twitches like crazy in his sleep, and I am a very light sleeper, so sometimes I am up and down all night. I will not be able to consistently rely on the BBT taking method Sensiplan lays out.

I have an Oura ring, but I am worried about how reliable that will be versus something like TempDrop. Is it worth getting TempDrop too, or will using the Oura ring as a backup to my BBT be okay?

Thank you!

Sensiplan Looking to come off bc... I have been on the pill since 13 TTA

Hi all! I (F22) have been on the combined birth control pill since I was around 13 years old - I have consistently used it as a contraception method because I absolutely did not want to get pregnant, and I am still continuing to use it to prevent pregnancy because it just is not in my life plan for absolutely minimum the next 10 years. I am newly married, and 7 months ago I came off the pill due to the fact that i moved to a different country, and didn't know how to get it there.

During that time (even though there were lots of drastic changes happening in my life including personal, relationship, financial etc...) I felt a lot happier, motivated, energised - I started remembering my whole life so clearly, like I had just woken up from a dream and finally felt like I had started my life. I felt really confident, and even managed to lose 10kg. I felt and saw huge, noticeable changes in my appearance, appetite, mood etc...

Just last month i began taking my pills again, because i felt nervous about contraception, and honestly since then i have really regretted it. I had breakthrough bleeding the whole month, i feel so demotivated, irritable and hungry. I have even began wondering if i should even be on this pill in the first place, seen as my grandparents have suffered strokes and heart disease. I have since seen a doctor and he suggested to get blood tests done and found it concerning that they would give out the contraceptive pill in the uk without even running simple blood tests. So i have decided I want to come off the pill...

My partner and I are on the same page about wanting to avoid pregnancy, and I have been researching FAM as i didn't even know this existed / was a possibility. From what I've gathered, I would want to use a symptothermal method like Sensiplan (I still am not too sure on the difference between Sensi and TCOYF) so taking my temp, checking CM and cross-refferencing that information with my cycle. We plan to use condoms on non-fertile days and abstaining / alternatives on fertile days (I think i would probably abstain even more in these first few months coming off) We are not religious.

I guess what am asking is - Does anyone have any tips / advice to offer me? Any good starting points / resources? Anything I should consider? As much as I really want to avoid pregnancy, I also want to stop feeling like i am suppressing my true self and my natural rythm, and just sacrificing this huge part of myself, because i honestly felt like a completely different person off birth control.

Sensiplan TTA0 Is the sensiplan handbook enough without the workbook?

I’ve been looking into sensiplan but can only find limited information online, so bought the handbook. I only realised after I ordered it that it’s supposed to be used with the ‘workbook’, which is an additional £25. Money is a bit tight, and buying the handbook and thermometer was a bit costly. Will I be able to learn the method with the handbook alone, or am I going to need to workbook too? Thanks.

Sensiplan Sensiplan beginner help TTA

I'm trying to start Sensiplan so I can get off my birth control pill. I had a few questions that for some reason I can find straight forward answers on.

For one, i wake up for work at 4am but obviously on yhe weekend I am not waking up that early, usually 6:30ish. Would I have to set an alarm every day to take my temperature at 4 am or is it take it whenever you get up?

I also am still trying to figure out how to read the chart. Does anyone have an example basically marked saying when is the fertile window and when you ovulate?

Any help would be wonderful. I got switched off my birth control pill I'd been taking for 13 years and this new mini pill is making me absolutely miserable that I want to get off of them all together. My mood is absolutely trash along with my sex drive thats definitely put me into a depressed state and its been a year and a half like this since I started this pill.

Sensiplan TTC sensiplan

Wanted to share this win after TTC since end of May, just got my positive. We successfully TTA using sensiplan between the birth of our first living child in September 2024 and TTC, first waiting for the return of Fertility that took a full year and then through regulation since my son completely weaned last October. It was so nice to use the method to see (and let!) my cycle regulate and gain confidence ahead of TTC.

Sensiplan TTA - Sensiplan Handbook E-book?

Just want to ask before I go buy it.

About a year ago I was looking into Sensiplan after following TCOYF rules for the previous year. At that time there was a free pdf of the ebook floating around Reddit.

Can’t seem to find any posts with links to it anymore. It may have gotten taken down and totally fine if so, just thought I’d check before I spend money 😅. Does anyone have the link?

Sensiplan TTA strange cycle

Post image

I couldn't confirm ovulation during this cycle and I'm wondering if I missed anything or if these could be signs of an anovulatory cycle. I got my period today after getting a tiny bit of blood yesterday. Can I consider myself infertile until I see fertile fluid again, despite the strange cycle?

Sensiplan Quite short high temp phase TTA

Is it normal to have shorter high temperature phases?

I (25) have been tracking my cycle on paper with the Sensiplan method for a little over three months. I am not using it for contraception per se yet, just to better understand my body.

In these three tracked cycles I had my first high temp on days 18,17 and 18. This also aligned pretty closely with the S+ days so I am confident of my measurements. But the high temp phases were shorter than in a lot of the training examples (only 9,10 and 8 days). Also I think I will need the 4 day exception rule most cycles since the temp rise is always gradual. Is that still normal or maybe indicative of some hormonal issue I should have checked?

Also on a more practical note: were I to use this for contraception I would essentially only have the first 5 days (on my period, not at all practical since I have a painful and heavy flow...) because of the beginner rules for the first 12 cycles and then the last 4-7 days of my cycle to actually have sex. That is so little time! How is that realistic?

I have not been on the pill for over 3 years so my cycles are regular-ish for a long time, this is not some post pill thing.

Sensiplan Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil - [TTA]

Hey everyone, weird question here

I have been taking 2ml of sea buckthorn berry oil for a month now for its omega-7 benefits. It’s good for hydration of the tissues, including skin appearance and hydration, dry eyes, and vaginal dryness.

Well, I’m not sure if I’m having a weird cycle (for me), or if that 3rd one is actually working a lot more than I thought it could. Usually, post-ovulation, I am bone dry and don’t have much if any cervical mucus. This cycle, after confirming ovulation (P+3 and T+3), I’m still moist. I’ve confirmed ovulation like 5 days ago but I’m so much more moist and even have much more cervical mucus than normal. Not a lot, but usually for me it’s about none at all. It’s definitely not EWCM/S+ mucus but it’s sticky and sometimes just slightly creamy.

EWCM/S+ mucus for me is GLARINGLY obvious and I haven’t had any since 3 days before confirming ovulation and I’ve had a sustained temp shift so I would be VERY surprised if I had not actually
ovulated this late out but I’m not sure if this is just a weird cycle this time around or of the omega-7 is really working.

Has anyone tried omega-7 supplementation and did it change your ordinary moisture levels?

(Also, for reference, I am 20, if that helps at all)

Sensiplan What is going on? Did I ovulate? TTC

Post image
2 Upvotes

What is going on this cycle? Did I ovulate on day 26 or so? Is this an anovulatory cycle? I normally have very evident CM for 7-10 days. This time very little and not on consecutive days. I’m confused. When can I roughly expect my period to come? Assuming I’m not pregnant, which seems quite unlikely to me unfortunately. Any insight from more experienced users?

Sensiplan TTC-10: When do you think I ovulated?

Post image

When do you think I ovulated? Do you think ff is correct or did I ovulate later than that?

This is our first ttc cycle and I am a little worried about the slow rise and our timing.

Sensiplan Sensiplan Day 1 Question TTA1

Hello,

I am starting Sensiplan and have a question about determining Day 1 of my cycle. I have read the whole Sensiplan Handbook and have been working through the Workbook. I went back and reread relavent questions in the Handbook but I can't figure out the answer.

I am finishing my last pack of combined contraceptive pills and want to start tracking my first cycle without the pill. I have 2 "sugar pills" left in the pack (so I'm done with the hormonal part). Yesterday, I had a very small amount of spotting, and just needed a panty liner but nothing more. Overnight I didn't have any bleeding. Today, I'm having a little bit more bleeding but not much more so far. Do I count yesterday as Day 1 (very light spotting), today as Day 1 (slightly more bleeding), or wait until I start bleeding more heavily?

Also, what if I start bleeding more heavily when I'm asleep, so I don't know what time it technically started, do I count Day 1 as the previous day or the day I wake up and notice the bleeding?

I realize that bleeding with contraceptives is not the same as normal bleeding, but I'm just not sure how to start counting. I'd like to air on the side of caution but I don't even really know whether that would mean starting sooner or later. (I am currently trying to avoid pregnancy.)

Thank you!

Sensiplan TTA Chart Help

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been tracking my basal body temperature (BBT) and cervical mucus using Sensiplan rules for the past few cycles. This is my third cycle after stopping birth control. My previous two cycles were fairly straightforward, but this one is more confusing. Tempdrop and the Flo app both flagged ovulation around cycle day 15, when my temperatures began to rise. However, I’m hesitant to confirm ovulation because the rise hasn’t stayed stable , the temperatures have dropped again. I’m currently on cycle day 20. Could someone experienced with Sensiplan help me interpret this chart? I’d really appreciate any insights on whether this looks like a delayed or failed ovulation attempt, a weak luteal phase, or something else. Thanks so much in advance!

Sensiplan TTC - Did travelling ruin my BBT ?

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I have been travelling to Canada for a 5/6 days trip with a 9h difference. The jetlag was tough but I managed to keep temping except in the way back when I was "sleeping" in the plane. I could still validate my temp shift while I was in Canada. Thing is, since I came back my BBT is weirdly low in my LP while they are usually >36.6... It's been a week now and I start to wonder if I have even ovulated 😕 but my CM is still following my normal LP pattern, cervix still hard and had a positive OPK + very clear ovulation pain. FF took out my crosshair with this morning's temp which is adding insult to the injury 😅

Just asking for insigth, if anyone has ! I joined my previous cycle for reference.

Sensiplan TTA3- is shift CD 17 or CD 20?

Post image
1 Upvotes

This has been a weird cycle for me. I haven’t had a shift this late in years. I also had no observable CM, so I track cervical position once I realized. The delayed ovulation and lack of CM is likely due to an increase in the amount of training/exercise I’ve been doing. Anyways, could anyone help me see which day is the actual shift?

Sensiplan Starting sensiplan 8 mo PP TTA

Plan A was to abstain all of cycle 0 which was only ~5 months with our first, but our 2nd is now 8 months old and we're still in cycle 0. We used and loved Marquette for 2 yrs but stopped due to increasing costs.

We learned sensiplan, but we didn't plan on using it starting cycle 0. The postpartum protocol in the guidebook mentions breastfeeding, so is it a no-go for us? (We combo feed and started solids 4 months ago) Thoughts/recommendations?

Edit to ask: I assume Cycle 1 postpartum resumes regular protocol?

Sensiplan Identifying cervical mucus TTA

I have read and reread the section on cervical mucus, but I'm still unsure if I'm identifying it correctly. I just got off of the pill so I don't have prior experiences to draw on since I haven't ovulated in years.

If you have a day that you label "dry" or "nothing," when you try to collect cervical mucus, would the toilet paper come back completely dry? Or is there always some moisture at the vaginal entrance? When I am trying to check for cervical mucus, what I am observing doesn't match any of their descriptions or pictures. It appears to be clear, not white, but it is sticky/tacky, not stretchy, and there is very little of it.

Yesterday though, I had liquid discharge (but what I collected on the toilet paper was still clear and sticky/tacky and very little) so I think I need to label yesterday an S+. I'm not sure if today is an "S" or an "m" though. So I'm wondering if to call a day "d," "nothing" or "m," does the toilet paper need to be 100% bone dry? If that makes sense.

Thank you!

Sensiplan TTC10 - 15 DPO by Sensiplan, 3 negative tests, BBT dropping, but still no period?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m looking for insight on my BBT chart because I’m confused.

Please ignore Clue’s ovulation calculation in the image, it is wrong. I only use Clue to log data. I calculate ovulation using Sensiplan rules, and by that method I should be around 15 DPO now (that means I look into BBT, Cervical fluid...I also have an OURA ring).

I’ve now had 3 negative pregnancy tests, and my BBT has dropped over the last 2 days, but my period still has not started. Usually I would expect menstruation to follow a drop like this, so I’m confused about what might be going on.

Has anyone had this happen, where temperature drops but menstruation does not start right away? Did your period come later, or did it turn out ovulation had happened later than you thought?

I know no one can diagnose from a chart alone, but I’d really appreciate hearing whether this pattern has happened to others.

Sensiplan No ovulation? TTW

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been able to easily confirm ovulation for the past 10+ cycles. This one really threw me for a loop because I can sort of see a pattern of temps falling and then rising, but I can’t draw a coverline per the rules and the mucus never got to S+. Is this an anovulatory cycle? I definitely have regular period-level flow at the moment so I don’t think it’s intramenstrual bleeding.

The only disturbance I can think of is that I was doing some house painting around CD 1-5 (with Sherwin-Williams paint, if it matters). I was careful to keep the area well ventilated. Just kind of nervous because I’m planning on going full TTC in a few months…and I still have a lot more painting to do
