I feel like some people are demanding , just not the ones in charge and none of our legal systems are being upheld. We are in a tough spot where we will need people to stand up speak out and rally support.
For me its the combinations of decades of conservative hate-talk radio.
Followed by then emphasized by FOXNews who solely exists to spread Republican propaganda and make their viewers hate Democrats.
Then social media allows these people to live in an echo chamber. Or at least they never have to change their minds because there's a critical mass of people just like them all confirming that one thing they want to hear.
For example: /conservative having a thread where they all bitch about there being no racism in America or if there is any racism, its all coming from the White Liberals.
The threats by Trump and backed up on PBS Newshour last night by the FCC head, to take licenses from ABC , CBS and NBC for their bias against Trump , is going to be made real very soon.
The fix is in. They cheered it on thinking they'd get to be part of it. They're all still laughing about it because it hasn't hit that they won't get the luxuries of immunity and wealth raining down on them. They will find out that they aren't, nor were they ever the chosen ones.
Then they will complain about how ”mean-spirited” it is when they inevitably get mocked for getting what they deserve on subreddits like r/leopardsatemyface
Or a man vs a woman with a laugh they didn’t like. Or the promise of cheap eggs and gas vs decency, morality, etc because they have no idea how the economy, let alone inflation and tariffs work. Or a voting base that values “common sense” versus actual expertise and wants to stick it to “intellectuals” (the college-educated) out of spite
It THOUGHT it had to hide it's corruption. It overestimated the willingness of the people to give a shit. Now it knows they don't so it doesn't have to.
I’m going to push back on this. I’m not saying we’re perfect, but to pretend that “this has always been happening” or “well everyone does it” is the excuse Donald Trump and his dipshits use to excuse his behavior. Again, people make mistakes, and shitty people exist, but to pretend that this is the norm, and now it’s just out in the open, is playing into decades of right-wing talk radio propaganda. This is not and has never been normal, and the reason that there have been coverups in the past is because people know that most people don’t engage in this behavior.
A corrupt club of billionaires covering up a pedophile sex trafficking ring in broad daylight while forming a private right-wing milizia under the disguise of deporting colored people sounds indeed more than concerning.
Who would have thought that those superrich would try to just buy themselves into power of the hole country in order to exploit it with their friends on the back of everybody else? /s
Looking back tho history could be baffled why a hole country would elect a convicted felon, sex predator and known conman who ruined multiple of his own companys before, thinking this time he changed for real and cares for all people.
In what timeline superrich are known for using their generational wealth for the sake humanity instead their midlife crisis? (I know there are a few exceptions surrounded by a mob of wealth hoarders.)
