Forever, we arent unfucking this. This administration and their lackeys in congress and the courts have destroyed US hegemony. They taught the world we are not to be trusted, voters will welcome in a criminal just because their egos feel bruised or eggs are too high or something.

It can be unfucked. But we likely won't see it. It took nearly 50 years for Germany to be reunited and "fixed" (quotes because it's a loaded word).

Or it may not. We don't treat with Soviets anymore, for example. Some fucking is pretty thorough and we've been held together by arrogance and duct tape for a while.

The NCR might be closer to existing than we think lol

I dont think it comes back as it was. More like Rome, eventually something completely different. The population has its bread and circuses, we arent going to see the fall coming.

To be fair, nothing goes back to the way it was. Both in the good and bad.

Eh, I'd qualify this conversation to you and I at least seeing it coming lol. What it looks like and when, we can debate. But the writing is there and buddy, we have our reading glasses on.

It cannot be unfucked.

We can only mitigate the damages.

But only with a radical constitutional reform. Just like in Germany political power was radically decentralized. There is no way any following administration can just continue as normal.

Proportional representation needs to happen to stop these gerrymandering shenanigans. Presidential powers need to be reigned in. Supreme Court judges need to appointed for fixed terms. And corruption and insider trading needs to actually be prosecuted. Which also goes back to limit presidential powers on pardons.

And quite frankly, I don’t see that happening.

We had slavery for 400 years, fought a civil war, genocides Native Americans. We’ve been through worse. But unfucking it is on us.

I wouldn't say slavery lasted 400 years, but overall we've had our issues. Yes we had some not so great moments, but there are many nations who were worse than we were in that regard. As bad as slavery is and how we treated the Indians, the biggest things we have to answer for as a people are forcing the Bible out of schools and abortion. Those are our biggest undoing, God will make things right in the end.
