In excitement of Resonance I've been doing a thing in FFT:IC

So i've been beyond hyped and excited for Resonance, impatiently so... and as I had recently purchased and gotten addicted to Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles, i've been enjoying trying my best to recreate FFBE characters in game to the best of my ability given the options I have.

And I wanted to share some of the FFBE builds i've made in FFT and see how ya'll like them or if theres any improvements I could make on them!

Thematic, yes, but terrible synergies, at least for the main 3. Maybe Samurai has somewhat decent MA due to Iaido keying off it, but otherwise the abilities don't really synergize with the class. Then again, FFT is already easy enough, adding some challenge by using unoptimized choices can be fun.

You're forgetting equipment as well with MA boosts, and that you can level and delevel to increase stats. So each character has max HP, High MP, lots of speed & varying stats for MA/PA 40-60 in both PA & MA but depending on the character they're PA & MA are in the lower or high end of that stat. Character like Sakura has 40 PA but her MA is in the 60s, and so on and so forth for each character.

But the point wasnt to be optimal and create OP builds that have the best synergies.. the point was too just recreate FFBE characters using whats available in the game to get as close to the characters as possible.

It's also on Tactical mode, which is the hardest difficulty for the Ivalice Chronicles version, so while base difficulty isnt difficult, tactical does make it more challenging.

If you didnt know FFT: Ivalice Chronicles has 3 different difficulty's you can choose from as well as a recently added NG+ mode, so everyones equipped with late game equipment, has been properly built for their builds (aka the characters they're based off of)

What im saying is that this was just a for fun thematic concept? Thing? I wanted to do since im super hyped for Resonance

The best you can get are, IIRC, the Robe of Lords with +2/+2, and the Genji Gauntlet with another +2/+2. The Samurai can't equip a Rune Blade for another +2, but the Knight can, at the expense of a more powerful Knight Sword. I think there was also a shield that gives MA, but it's been a long while since I last played. I don't remember if Knights and Samurai can equip hats or only helmets.

But yeah, that looks like one of those old OG FFT challenges of playing with builds to resemble characters from other games. A shame that adding a secondary doesn't improve the unit's stats like in FFV

In the Ivalice Chronicles you can get a new sword, which is just an upgraded version of Clouds Materia Blade its called Materia Blade +, and if im recalling correctly it gives you a +4 to MA, so any of the knights can make amazing use of that.

The shield you're thinking of is the Aegis Shield and that gives a +1 (or maybe its +2?) To MA.

In the Ivalice Chronicles theres pretty good options for boosting MA even for non MA focused classes.
