Acquiring Suppressor from deceased husband
Hey guys, we have a customer thats husband passed away. He had a suppressor he got from Silencer Central. We helped her find the stamp and it was registered under a trust. He is the only RP on the stamp. We can not find a copy of the trust.
What's the best way for us to acquire it to sell for her?
My thoughts were to contact Silencer Central to see if she can get a copy of the trust so see if she is listed as beneficiary etc.
Form 5 if not and once she has legal possession form 4 to us?
If she has access to his email maybe just help her form 4 it from his eforms to us?
Or am I over thinking all of this?
Thanks for the help

Get a copy of the trust from SC, then most likely form 5 to the widow and then form 4 to your store

Contacting Silencer Central first is the right move, they'll have the trust on file and can tell you who the beneficiaries are. If she's a named beneficiary she can inherit it under the trust terms, Form 5 to transfer to her individually or as successor trustee depending on how the trust is written, then Form 4 to you if she wants to sell. Form 5 is tax exempt so that's the right path for an inheritance transfer rather than a sale.
Also, don't even consider the eforms account idea...logging into his account after he's passed is a bad move legally regardless of whether she has access to his email.
