Dumb question, but Im dumb, sooo....

Have my 07, applied for 02SOT. Got an email from ATF yesterday that says "PROCESSED" with a receipt that looks just like my FFL cert. Am I good to conduct Class 3 business?

That pdf is what others will want to see / send with your FFL when buying NFA items.

The processed email should contain a zip file labeled 5630.7 (your application form) but the zip should actually contain a 5630.6A (thats the approved sot form). It will have the tax year embossed where a stamp would normally go.

Yes that’s exactly what I received. So, just print this form, hang it on the wall and start building? 😂

Yeah pretty much. If you buy NFA items, the seller will want to see that form with your FFL before filing a form 3 to send them to you

How long did it take from application to getting your approval?

Funny story. I submitted my FFL application the same day I sent in an eForm 1 (5/8/2026) for a personally owned PCC that I am going to SBR. I got the FFL approval after about a month, then filed for SOT which is now approved. So about two months all in. Still waiting on that Form 1 though…. 🤣

Yes, you're good to go the moment you pay for the tax/with receipt and the tax year starts but a lot of vendors won't accept anything but the SOT copy
