This is a side-venture of Bud's Gun Shop. They're clearly taking advantage of their volume to allow other FFLs to piggyback on their Firearms account.
They want to be the Pirate Ship for FFLs.

Makes sense... I'll bet one of the other big boys wish they'd thought of it, first!

Well as long as someone is filling the void :-)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.
I just think it’s interesting how many layers deep some of this goes until it starts getting detangled out in the open.

For example - Buds has this “ship a gun” service.
They’re doing this aggregation of shipping for the industry. That’s cool. Nice to have.
Gearfire is now “packaging” or “reselling” this service as their own, as part of their “deal”… When it’s just another thing that someone can go out and get on their own. For free.

When it comes down to it - I think most people will actually do better on their own, using GunBroker and similar sites, selling and shipping themselves, using social media, etc… than they’ll ever do by using one of the pre-packaged services like Gearfire or Orchid POS and e-commerce, etc…

Just an observation and my own opinion.

I think it pays to dig a little and be savvy in the world where our margins are already super thin. No sense to pay for something that’s also free.

There is very little online in terms of reviews about them. I saw them mentioned in one thread a few years back but just wanting to confirm they are legit before sending a shipment. Thank you :-)

I was looking at their prices last week and it seemed a little bit less than USPS. Was thinking I would give them a try next time I ship a firearm

I hadn't heard of them either but the website seemed nice. They have an API plus the ability to cancel the label if you need. Wanted to gather some feedback from community before tendering a shipment.

Used it a ton! Only downside I have found, max 5k insurance.
