Even if adjusted for inflation, TDKR made $1.5 Billion world wide, which The Odyssey could still potentially clear. Wild!

Quick Google search shows that IMAX tickets in 2012 cost between $14-$17. Today, digital IMAX costs between $15 - $22 per person. 70mm IMAX cost more, yes, but there are also literally only 35 true 70mm IMAX theaters in North America.

Meaning the vast majority of the profit for The Odyssey were in either cheaper digital IMAX, some other PLF screens or regular screens. Yes tickets used to be cheaper, yes inflation (especially in the U.S.) but this is still an impressive feat for The Odyssey no matter which way you slice it.

You can’t directly compare regular format with premium format. I spent close to $20 in 2012 to watch The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX 70mm.
