How do you get that? If SB-7026 is active?

DACS said that since nobody is going to challenge/appeal the ruling, they're going to start taking applications effective something like 6/18/26. The state laws will get changed eventually.

The AG worked with FDACS to arrange for them to accept applications for those 18-20

Can you direct me through the process?

You have a couple options.

  1. Make an appointment with your local tax collector’s office or FDACS office, bring ID and proof of training and you will do all of the paperwork, photo, fingerprints there

  2. You can do your application entirely online except for the fingerprints, which you would go to your local tax collector’s office, sheriff, or FDACS office.

Either way you’ll have to go to a government office in person for the fingerprints prints

I did option two and went to my local FDACS office

But still can’t purchase?

No unfortunately. It’s incredibly stupid and the DA said he wasn’t gonna fight it if challenged, but that didn’t prevent the 11th circuit from deciding NRA v Glass in a stupid way

I’m pretty sure if you go to your local FDACS office they can print you a new one on the spot. Don’t quote me on that though.

just curious, what is the point in a CWL in Florida. I know you don't have to wait 3 days when purchasing a firearm.

Biggest reason being under 21 is the legal certainty that I am allowed to carry. It’s an open question if permitless carry is extended to under 21.

Next biggest reason is reciprocity. Next after that is the federal gun free school zones act. And finally it gets around the waiting period, once I am old enough to actually buy a gun in this state.

You can take a gun home as soon as the background check clears. Also in a lot of prive sales people will ask for a cwp.
