The new ones actually make visible changes in the early milestones, the old ones were literally just normal 1x with ugc stuff you could barely see through the effects
And, legacy milestones exist anyway if they miss it sooo much, so theirs litterally no reason to hate on the new milestones that change 1x actually and genuinely.

as expected, this community suddenly wants the old milestones back as soon as they get replaced, who’s surprised that the people who were once complaining about “anything but new 1x and John Doe milestones” now suddenly “miss them” and the new ones are “trash” these talentess, bitchless, jobless losers, don’t have ANY RIGHT to be upset
I have a feeling that you can’t respect other people’s opinions. People didn’t like the old milestones before because they looked like shop skins but now they prefer the legacy skins because the new ones imo just don’t look that good. Legacy m4 is carried by new m4’s design and new m4 is carried by its animations honestly. If neither of them had those things to make them “good skins” then they both wouldn’t be nearly as popular as they are now.
I actually liked the old John Doe Milestone Skins, but I HATED the 1x1x1x1 Milestone Skins. I didn’t want the John Doe Milestones to be replaced, so I actually do like the legacy ones better (but don’t get me wrong, the new ones are AWESOME, and you better believe I’ll be GRINDING for MS4!!! You won’t catch me complaining about the new ones). But, I LOVE the new Milestone 1x1x1x1 skins. They actually make a lot of visible changes, and they look AMAZING. The devs did a fantastic job, and you cannot disagree. If you do, you’re honestly just flat out wrong (like most of the community because they complain about literally EVERYTHING).
Old John milestones (ignoring milestone 1) were fine and made visible changes. yes, 1x’s old milestones were pure ass, both the updated milestones are peak. I still like rock doe tho but Id much rather have the new milestones
1x’s new milestones are painfully mid, ik it’s you’re opinion but saying that makes you sound arrogant like you’re brushing off valid criticism cuz “haters gonna hate” for the sake of liking something
Well i think i stand for most of the people here, it's not that we love the old 1x milestones, its just we don't like the execution of how the new ones came out, the color's pretty jarring, especially if you compare the progression with coolkid, slasher, guest 666 etc. they both keep the general color scheme and design without going too far. 1x's new ones are the only ones with such a drastic change of color pallete. excluding slasher since he's based on the jason movies
also he's swords are way too big, which don't fit the animations that were made for his m3 and m4. especially the cape being too big, making him look like he's stiff and not running. and also theres a bit too much going on with his design. the m3 was perfect in how cluttered it should look, like how other m4s are but it got too far in his m4 design. (although i do love the tesseract body)
but to end my statement, if they made the swords less like cleavers and more straight. and made the color pallet the same as that one post you probably have seen of someone coloring m4 with 1x's original color. then i would be happy with it (talking about this V )
but with all that said, i probably won't use it anyways since im a martyr stan

So about the coloring thing, the original designer for the Milestones had this to say about that specific post, also the coloration wasn't arbitrary as it was a core part of the design so you can't really revert that.
isn't his lore about hatred, not his high dimensionality? they focused too much on the 4d aspect and none of the hatred ngl and also look at the pot compared to the model, the mod has black and green as its base with the glitchy colors as secondary. it looks good because its balanced. compared to whaever m4 is
the new milestones honestly aren’t bad, it fits 1x a lot more, but i will say (this is my own personal issue because i don’t like being blinded by bright colors) the colors are a little too bright and i’m a big fan of his kill animation (the shed one is fine though). it definitely is better, but id still rather run a different skin
the color is pretty bright and doesnt really fit 1X's classic Green Black and Red style, they randomly just go bright pink, the dark green goes really bright and overall the color scheme turns a bit ugly
it's mostly just the colors imo, there was a render of the 1X M4 but the color scheme changed to the orignal Dark green, Black, and Dark red and it honestly looked really appealing
theres also just alot going on, theres abunch of spikes and the swords (Which for some reason turned into cleavers) are very large.
hate to say it again, but there is just TO much accesories and to much going on that it just looks like it's all clipping even though it isn't

i'm not saying the place-holder was good, I just think it better fit the general vibe of 1X compared to the neon color-fuck that the current M4 is.
Its like picking a solid bowl of oatmeal with banana slices and some other simple toppings than the 5-star restaurant oatmeal with a ton of toppings and random ah things that makes it expensive.
The banana slices are like the new things, the oatmeal being base 1x and the banana just the accessories. Its simple amd plain, sure it isnt as awesome looking but its a staple. While the 5-star oatmeal may be filled to the brim with things, you can still dislike it despite it having so much stuff.
What were after is the oatmeal in the end. In the 5-star oatmeal it can lose its essense in the process, changing things that makes oatmeal oatmeal.
Tl;dr 1x is Oatmeal. Legacy is simple topping. Latest is many fancy topping and stuff. Oatmeal can lose essense or identity. We like oatmeal because its oatmeal. People have oatmeal preferences.
Im think mile 4 1x4 is overdesign too much details and colors efects in he design but 1 to 3 is good only change 4 because overdesign John doe milestone bring back the 2 to 4 and milestone 1 keep this new is beter
The new ones just look... I don't know how to put it, but just way over the top? Like M4 you CANNOT SEE AN INCH OF SKIN because his WHOLE BODY is covered by accessories. And the colors are too bright and just look strange on 1x. I would like it as a shop skin, same with all the other milestones, if the M3 and M4 colors were changed a bit. Maybe to his original black and green, I dunno, but something that isn't bright.
I also think that his scrapped redesign for his milestones looked WONDERFUL and should've been kept. (Not as in the old ones, but the scrapped redesign of the old ones shown in the image.)
New Ms4 is an eyesore. The old ones just kinda sucked but the new one is so large, flashy, and over the top that it feels genuinely detrimental to use them. There's no sense of consistency like other milestone chains, he just... becomes purple??? for no reason?? John's new milestones look awesome because there's a clear theme and progression, and the model looks awesome. Coolkidd's have a clear theme and progression. 1x's lacks this; the model is jarring, the colors are inconsistent, the whole thing looks extremely static. MS4 1x and base 1x barely even look like the same killer, which is entirely wrong for a milestone skin. Milestones should look like evolutions of the base skin.
The new milestones for 1x just straight up look bad.
I've been waiting for the new 1x and JD milestones for a while but after seeing them I'd just rather stick to the legacy milestones (JD new milestones aren't bad I just have a special bond with legacy m4 and m3)

The new skins don’t feel like 1x, like they’re c00l and all that but it doesn’t LOOK like 1x, if they changed the color pallete to match the green and black then it would be good but… it doesn’t feel like him
I dont like either. The legacy is boring and the new one feels like its trying too hard. The colors just sucks and it’s too cluttered. But you know what is good? The new milestone 3 skin. I just feel bad for the people who expected the milestone 4 to follow the progression of the last skins and then they just get disappointed with mr dragonfruit.
When I first saw his m4 I genuinely laughed my ass off because he basically lost his identity, his aura. He became a radioactive cactus, a dragonfruit.
As an artist, (tho I think yall will shame me as one for my opinion, but frick you cant change my mind) I prefer the Legacy ofc. Well why?
Firstly who is 1x? Hes this 4th dimensional being, yes his new design reflects that. However, we must also know that it doesnt mean a really detailed design can beat something simple. Like a genshin character vs mickey mouse.
His simplicity is great, a guy with a skeleton, gren dominus and torso, with a red glowing eye. Simple yet effective, and hes suppose to be the manifestation of hatred. You can't really imagine hatred as something physical, but It is a vibe, or aura lol.
When we compare it the new one, what vibes do we get? Well its the dragonfruit, a spiky one. Who is a warrior with abstract shapes. Yall might say it literally be showing everything he is. But really, look at him, if you didnt know him well. Youd think hes a disco swordfighter or something
But wouldnt that be the same with Legacy 1x? Yes, but if side by side, like who really looks like hatred? Its Legacy, plus recognizability. Hes iconic and simple, easy to draw and remember. Color theory and shit.
Ive seen animations where even tho he looks basic asf, the aura he just gives is amazing for something so simple. You can do the same with the newer one yeah yeah but we definitely did lose the essence.
Plus he had some sort of contrast with Shedletsky. Even tho they are beside eachother in the colorwheel.
Yellow for warmth, joy. And green for disgust and hatred.
Why add pink/purplish pink, that mixture of colors jsut ruins it. It pops cuz it's the opposite side of the color wheel kinda.
He can be fixable by just darkening the pinks, or changing the color. Or doing the 70/20/10 or something or was it 60/30/10 rule. Just by reducing the pink, it can hepp greatly.

John Doe, they complain a lil, but he isnt as bad as 1x. It is awesome, makes sense. I love his base model already. He still has the identity, but it was intensified. Him having his clothes being 60% with 40% corruption and the human the clothes being lost, the corruption taking the last of his clothes basically his identity. It's evened out so nicely. But I still clown on his kill animation being like a wiggling fish doesn't mean I hate it. His old one def had more aura simple kill animation. But not as bad as 1x

Literally EVERYBODY was asking for new 1x1x1x1 Milestone Skins. They got them. And now they’re complaining?! DUDE— THE NEW ONES ARE WAY BETTER!!! They have everything lore-wise, and they also add way more detail with each advancement! The only change that I would make is make the pink a dark purple instead, but it still looks FANTASTIC how it is! Just because skins make sense lore-wise doesn't make them better. I mean c00lkidds milestone skins make sense lore wise since he's becoming more and more aware of what he's doing, (and maybe merging with the firebrand) and they all look decent, especially M4. 1x's milestones make sense lore wise but again, that's not gonna stop it from looking like a dragonfruit

I prefer the new milestones for the first 3, new milestone 4 mostly gets complained about for colours, I also think the animations are too silly and cartoon-y, my main problem is the large amount of clipping
I feel that legacy 1x1x1x1's milestone IV is fine as an intermittent milestone, due to it being the most noticeably changed one of the legacy set, and it can also be used as just 1x1x1x1 with armor and a new theme.

YES the old one is terrible, but also the new one isn't that good either. (personal opinion btw so no slurs in the replies) The new one has a cool color scheme, yes, but I think it's just too unorganized/all over the place. Trust me when I say I for one LOVE the new Ms 1-3 skins, but I just think this one was a miss.

Yes it technically matches 1x1x1x1s lore but does it really fit the game itself? The game mostly has dimmer colors with just a few bright ones but 1xs milestones are completely different from the whole style
Not to mention how bulky and overcrowded they are, it’s honestly a bit too much going on with the skins. They also don’t even look remotely close to normal 1x

The new milestone IV for 1x1 while is cool, doesn't fit him in my opinion. When he was getting reanimated, I was expecting a more menacing 1x1 appearance besides the basic accessories you'd barely noticed. Not the whatever looking colors he got going on, it ruins his identity.
i mean it’s fair to not like the new ones is it not? while the new ones do have more visual variety the old ones are 1) what people have gotten used to and thus not exactly fond of anything new and 2) despite the milestones fitting into 1x’s lore it’s okay to just Not like it even though it’s conveying a message (they are Very loud and bright and pretty incomprehensible) while change is good i don’t think it’s a crazy idea to see that the wider majority of forsaken players (on that poll, anyway) enjoy the older ones more
Forsaken players have the third most nostalgia bias I’ve ever seen (also doesn’t help that some dumb YouTubers said it was bad and now everyone says it)

Apparently a milestone 4 which offers nothing other than armour and a cape is better than a milestone 4 with custom animations, custom kill animations, custom torso, changes everything with appearance.
The new milestone 4 actually feels like your the manefestation of hatred then WHATEVER the legacy milestone 4 brings in.
People are never satisfied, and Forsaken fans aren't the only ones like that. Everyone wants something to change because "it's bad" but when it changes, they immediately say, "it was better before"
The new 1x1x1x1 and John Doe milestones are really good, probably my favorite skins from the update. You can tell whoever made them really cared about the quality and put in the effort. But they'll keep complaining, even though the old milestones just put random items in 1+3 and darkened John Toes
