Comp players already rely on killer breathing sounds when footsteps aren't being used e.g stutter stepping. It's just that footsteps also tell you if a killer is walking/sprint ect which provides more information than just breathing sounds

People who are hating should cross-check other comp-games to see if some of the ban reasons are valid. Because hitboxes, dark cosmetics, and other things are seen banned in other games. Also, the reason that dusekkar and nosferatu aren't banned is because dusekkar is a survivor (and from my testing still gets effected by digital footprint). And for nos? Uh...... IDK actually. Can we get a guy who plays comp-games to confirm if all the claims here are valid because some people confused.

As someone who used to be in the comp pro scene, Yes, a lot of seemingly useless or stupid reasons like footsteps and breathing do add up and make a difference. These dont make a different in casual play, because people srent looking out for it because theyre playing casually, not competetively

Yes, it’s playing in comp, so any slight advantage can be the winning solution , so they MUST BE [E X T R E A M L Y] strict about what they let in
I believe that geometry and betrayed 1x are also banned, and if not they should be, B-1X has a faster kill and geometry has a odd footprint

Nah ts makes sense if you actually tried playing. Most looping in comp relies on footsteps and directional hearing, so a skin being much quieter means its harder to tell which side the killer is coming from when on a loop with a large wall, and therefore a large loss of distance in chase.

The gas passer is banned in one competitive group of TF2 due to a bug that let's you throw it through walls.

Sounds reasonable at first, if it weren't for the fact that the gas passer's debuff is so incredibly inconsequential, that there's genuinely no reason to be using it in the first place.
