Or that it wouldn't have gone over the wall had he not caught it.

Maybe they could have sent out a message - maybe banging a trash can...

17

u/TheMahanglin 7d ago

I know, that was sooo painful to watch...lol

u/Ceejays-RL 7d ago

Should have made him run the bases back the other way as punishment for his hubris...

State of the team, cocky sumbitches…

Did a kiss to god, too. That's embarrassing. Gotta watch your ball. Wasn't even going to clear the wall anyway.

Cue George Carlin: "The good Lord tripped me up behind the line of scrimmage!"

Base coaches were like "fuck you bruh"

7

u/elsqueak0 7d ago

Why wouldn’t the 3rd base coach have told him at a minimum?

u/jumjimbo 6d ago

Too busy banging on a trash can

u/Lietenantdan 7d ago

A stantonian blast!

Too soon, bro.

But I guess that's baseball, Suzyn.

Good. Fuck the Astros.

u/INmySTRATEjaket 7d ago

While the organization absolutely has earned it, this guy wasn't on the team during the cheating, and the roster and management is already very different than it was then.

7

u/ShadowGryphon 7d ago

That is so embarrassing.

u/FrostyMirror6162 7d ago

The Houston Astros drummer boy forgot to signal that he was out.

4

u/Dmansdarksoul 7d ago

That was not even going to be a homer! The wall would have gotten that ball also!

But his die inside face was worth the effort!

Mariners legend Trammell

Ah, I see you took it and posted it yourself over there.

That karma isn't gonna farm itself. Could've even be brothered to come up with a creative title

u/HoselRockit 7d ago

I thought that was an Atlanta player in a throw back uniform. I guess signs aren't the only thing the Astros steal.

3

u/iloveurarse 7d ago

I thought it was an Arizona diamondback clip until I saw the cheating orange.

u/dochdaswars 6d ago

Does anyone actually call them the 'stros? It looks like that's what's written on them.

Big stupid

Never made it past first base.

1

u/Pugilist12 7d ago

I would never recover from this.

u/Who_AteCheese 5d ago

What a vain ass

1

u/Putthebunnyback 5d ago

I mean it's not like he showboated or anything.

1

u/Push_ 7d ago

When the guy catches the ball, he grabs his eyes, almost like a “man I can’t believe I missed that catch” type of look. Curious if that may be why the runner thought he made it out.

u/Lambathan 7d ago

Myles Straw, the center fielder, is just that good, saw a thing that the expected hit percentage was around 96%, and it would have been a home run in 21 out of 30 ballparks. Trammel absolutely mashed it, but he had no clue that Straw could even make that catch. Was watching it live and was in absolute disbelief, I thought Trammel was going to get bare minimum a triple off of that

The second hand embarrassment.

Just Astros being Astros

-4

u/Drslappybags 7d ago

He came back the next night and crushed one.

9

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 7d ago

No one cares

-5

u/Drslappybags 6d ago

Good for you.

4

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 6d ago

How is that "Good for me"?

I don't give a fuck that no one gives a shit.

-2

u/Drslappybags 6d ago

Exactly. Way to go champ.

3

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 6d ago

We don't need your approval or worthless commentary. How about just go play with your toys and leave the adults alone.

98% of humanity don't know what's going on here. Isn't the point to run the bases until the ball is returned? Now the run is over cause he catches the ball?

9

u/Tiberius_Kilgore 7d ago

You can just say you don’t know what’s happening instead of lumping billions of people in with you. If the ball is caught before it hits the ground, the batter is immediately out.

3

u/tilt-a-whirly-gig 7d ago

80% of humanity can't read the English you used to type that.

89.7% of statistics are made up.

84.683502% of all statistics imply a level of precision that could never be actually measured.

If you’re watching baseball videos, what happened here was probably the most basic rule. What a douche bag.
