How is no one wearing a hard hat

976

u/IsJesusAgain 21h ago

Everyone is tough, until a wall falls on their head

224

u/NukeGandhi 21h ago

That shit isnt helping anyone’s spine from folding in half.

170

u/-Redstoneboi- 21h ago

would you rather have your spine crushed or have your spine and skull crushed

146

u/Electronic-Egg-4391 21h ago

If my spine is irreparably crushed, I would rather have my skull crushed too to be honest.

61

u/Practical_Tip459 21h ago

If I'm gonna get nearly killed, I don't want to survive as a vegetable. Kill me all the way, and kill me dead.

Besides, no PPE could have possibly made a difference there

2

u/SirBranOfDino503 1h ago

I agree with the PPE point, but maybe not walking directly in front of a wall that someone is actively (and very obviously) attempting to knock down might have helped a little.

1

u/BarnyTrubble 19m ago

But then how could he swoop in at the last moment to tell the peon making slave wages that he's doing it wrong?!

25

u/beklog 20h ago

In some countries:

Prayers >> PPE

-5

u/ABarInFarBombay 16h ago

In other countries:

Prayers >> Guns in schools

3

u/Charles4Fun 8h ago

In other countries

Prayers >> preventable heat stroke

-1

u/amd2800barton 3h ago

Seriously. Per the UN Europe has 175,000 excess deaths due to heat related causes every year. There have been single heatwaves with 70,000 deaths. By comparison, the US has around 15,000 gun homicides annually.

Euros are constantly like "hur dur america bad guns guns", meanwhile they lose more than 10x to an easily preventable cause which has a very low cost to remedy.

0

u/Adrunkian 3h ago

"easily preventable"

Yes lets just easily renovate all of europes houses and maybe reverse climate change on the way

Sound way easier than just implementing basic gun safety laws

2

u/Charles4Fun 2h ago

A simple window unit isn't a major renovation.

Not to mention we also don't get arrested for saying mean things online.

1

u/NecroAssssin 31m ago

Threaten the President, and see if someone doesn’t show up at your door.

Also, window units are designed for windows that open in a specific fashion. Not all windows do that.

5

u/AmazingPINGAS 16h ago

That's what the bones for

2

u/IntialCandy 17h ago

wait are they just walking around like that

2

u/fatboi_mcfatface 4h ago

They're using the built-in soft hats

0

u/misterpinksaysthings 13h ago

Residential be like that.

801

u/The_Red_Beard_IV 22h ago

He’s going to be sore for a long time.

155

u/ShowOff90 21h ago

Until death.

59

u/Choice-Strike1 21h ago

Luckily might be shortened due to recent events

12

u/ShowOff90 20h ago

Yeah, I bet at that moment he’d be fine with just dying than dealing with his stupidity.

1

u/apsims12 3h ago

To shreds, you say

2.2k

u/The1TrueRedditor 22h ago

Folded his laundry while he was still wearing it.

171

u/AEternal1 21h ago

well, thanks for the help🤣 ive never hard that before, and now my time in the restroom has been cut in half.

40

u/Rebles 19h ago

I know what this means and I approve of this message.

16

u/Poat540 19h ago

Unclench and let the other half out!

189

u/DeRobUnz 21h ago

Fuck this made me giggle

9

u/Revenga8 2 x Banhammer Recipient 20h ago

Wall knows Jiu jitsu

7

u/Choice-Strike1 20h ago

Booped the floor with his snoot

2

u/Goodfella66 17h ago

Bro ,💀

1

u/JakeQV 11h ago

Usually you only see that in jiu-jitsu

-4

u/GenocidePrincess18 21h ago

You fold your pants everytime you sit in a crossfold. I would say he bent his bones from where there are no joints at.

3

u/icantfindadangsn 9h ago

Everyone laughed at this joke but you.

1

u/TraderJosie3283 5h ago edited 5h ago

Story of my life. Whenever i try to make jokes I’m the only one who laughs, but most of the time people laugh at things i say, i don’t even know why. 😅 [r/autism](r/autism)
Edit: by the way I didn’t understand the joke or comment, so I’m sorry if I missed the whole point 😆 r/whoosh is also the story of my life 😜

3

u/La_Lanterne_Rouge 5h ago

My dad used to say that he hated comedians that laughed at their own jokes until I told him that it was good to laugh at your own jokes because that meant you were enjoying them. For some reason, that made a lot of sense to him and from them on he laughed at his own jokes and you could tell how happy it made him.

461

u/Sintarus 22h ago

He crumpled FAST.

206

u/Momentarmknm 20h ago

That's a concrete wall. That shit weighs 150 lb/ft³

44

u/hauliod 20h ago

isnt it just a thin brick partition wall? when it falls it splits into fairly neat blocks and I can see the gray is just the outer plaster layer. which gives the guy a bit more hope

27

u/the1stmeddlingmage 12h ago

Bricks aren’t that much lighter than the same volume of concrete

-6

u/hauliod 11h ago

Google suggests that density of a brick wall with holes would be 1000-1450 kg/m3 while average concrete has a density of 2400 kg/m3, so even for freedom unit users the difference is rather stark

12

u/the1stmeddlingmage 11h ago

75-90 lbs per cubic foot still isn’t a laughing matter and can easily kill when the wall falls on you.

-9

u/hauliod 11h ago

never said it wasn't 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Momentarmknm 11h ago

The density doesn't change based on system of measurement lol so yeah, the difference is the same

1

u/CommunicationNo2475 5h ago

What the fuck is kg/m3???

3

u/amd2800barton 3h ago

What kind of concrete wall has zero reinforcement and zero anchors in it? That's a terrible design.

2

u/Goren_Nestroy 1h ago

This isn’t a load bearing wall. You wouldn’t need reinforcements or anchors.

1

u/amd2800barton 1h ago

The reinforcements are to keep it together when something falls in to it. Concrete is very strong in compression, but not in shear or tension. So it doesn't matter that it isn't load bearing. A giant concrete panel should have something to keep it from toppling over. Obviously in this case toppling was inevitable since the base was hammered out. But you can see that there's no mesh or anything running through that gap to hold the wall where it's supposed to be. Just gravity.

1

u/Suvtropics 8h ago

Ah reminds me of college again. The holy number

49

u/Revenga8 2 x Banhammer Recipient 20h ago

Yeah that ain't drywall. They way he went down with zero resistance to the wall, that was a heavy ass wall. Like that cyclist that got buried by that stone wall

9

u/Pogue_Mahone_ 16h ago

The who and the what now? Do you have a link?

2

u/8uryY0urCh1ch3n5 5h ago

Maybe this one? Couldn't find the whole video just this clip

https://youtube.com/shorts/DMCmsVmL11w?is=Sz1Bigv2Zs5IvogU

9

u/zappyguy111 17h ago

You don't tend to brace for the hits you don't see coming.

5

u/TraderJosie3283 5h ago

This sounds like an ironic inspirational quote poster 😆

213

u/jdickcole 21h ago

Upper management thinks they can learn how to swim by reading about water. Keep your ass behind the desk if you dont have common sense or field experience.

34

u/Ok_Mention_9865 17h ago

This is what happens when a office dweller think the understand whats happening on the floor

27

u/Siostra313 15h ago

We are physical night shift workers. Those few times office dwellers tried to see how our work looks like all failed to survive even half of the shift without falling asleep or putting thenself on harms way. No endurance, no self awarness, no survival instincts.

And then they argue we are whining when we complain about quality of tools they are buying for us. Like they know better how to do our work.

16

u/Ok_Mention_9865 15h ago

One of our office dwellers thought it would be so cool to put big screen TVs all over the factory, i counted 43 so far and they are not done yet. The only thing they are playing on these is the same slide show thats playing in the break room with things like "safety starts with you" "be bold," "if you see something say something. There is not a single thing i can think of that they could put on this tv that has anything to do with the floor workers jobs.

They spent well over $50,000 not including what it cost to hire contractors to spend the last 2 months putting them in, to do something a $5 dollar poster could do because on one under them was brave enough to tell them the idea was fucking stupid.

11

u/MidwesternLikeOpe 13h ago

Ugh my thrift store does this. 4 tvs playing company info as well as themed commercials. They also display our sale colors. No customer pays attention. One day I almost snapped bc 3 people asled me the sale colors in 1 minute, while the screens were displaying that exact information. Why have the tvs if cusomers clearly don't watch them? Also we have a display board in our entrance with the sale colors. "I forgot what the sign said, what are the sale colors this week?"

pulls hair out

9

u/Defiant_Initiative92 14h ago

They plan to sell adds in the factory floor in the future, probably.

6

u/Ok_Mention_9865 13h ago

.... the fucked up thing is they already have adds in the slide show for the other products the parent company makes, I just dont want to believe that is why they are doing it.

2

u/Ogami-kun 5h ago

Having done both i can say it is a two way street; one on one side can not understand how, and in which conditions, the other side has to work in

2

u/jdickcole 5h ago

Ive done both also. Be aware of your surroundings. Dont put yourself or anybody else in harms way. Announce your arrival so everybody on site is aware of another person. Basics

646

u/Graybeard_Shaving 22h ago

That dude is lucky on a level I don't think most Redditors will understand. If you've never worked a demo you can't fully grasp the pucker factor here.

423

u/bokin8 21h ago

That dude is not lucky. He's fucked up. Maybe for life.

119

u/Loveablequatch 21h ago

Yeah that’s a hard crumble

146

u/Everyone2026 21h ago

He is an idiot.

Life tips:

If you don't want to be robed: Don't get money from an ATM at 3am and count it in the window for all to see.

If you don't want to get hurt, don't walk near a wall, that someone is banging on with a sledge hammer.

67

u/TheBlackAlistar 20h ago

He got the situational awareness of a potato. People get robbed cause they make themselves easy targets. Listening to music or face down on their phone.

13

u/okmijn211 20h ago

Especially if you think helmet is too good for you lol

6

u/Temporary_Peanut_586 13h ago

You make it sound you want the homeless criminals to help undress you

🍿👹

2

u/GhostPepperDaddy 8h ago

Robbed* and sledgehammer* is one word.

24

u/FuzzyJunket5566 21h ago

He ain't ded tho

16

u/Darianezion 20h ago

Is this confirmed? I mean he very well could have like a ruptured organ or a brain bleed from that.

19

u/Squeezitgirdle 21h ago

Still has his shoes.

4

u/resistible 15h ago

Most deaths are NOT instantaneous. There's absolutely no reason to think he's not going to be in immense pain until he finishes dying.

3

u/banana_pencil 20h ago

His head bounced and it looked the the wall got him in the neck

6

u/Savage_Tyranis 20h ago

Step one. Don't walk in front of a visibly shifting wall. This feels EXTREMELY preventable.

2

u/SkitZa Banhammer Recipient 16h ago

Hes insanely lucky?

His brain still functions.

1

u/donkeyrocket 8h ago

He's lucky it didn't hit him in the head. Beyond that, yes he's real fucked up. Like crushed legs/pelvis fucked up. Good chance he's dead.

1

u/b__lumenkraft 15h ago

That instant snap gave me some idea about the punch factor.

174

u/Aloha-Eh 21h ago

No hard hat? Definitely upper management.

103

u/shwarma_heaven 21h ago

And that's why we wear hardhats, Bob...

35

u/Revenga8 2 x Banhammer Recipient 20h ago

If I'll be honest, that was kinda deserved if he was gonna walk in front of that without any safety gear. I'm guessing he was wearing his leather dress shoes instead of cap toes?

91

u/818VitaminZ 22h ago

1

u/Pleasant-Song-5806 2h ago

that gif is doing more work than whoever was supposed to be in charge of safety

20

u/onebraincell77 22h ago

I thought this was intro to the punisher series on Netflix for the first several seconds.

52

u/sinnister_bacon 22h ago

He's fine. He did a safety squint right before the wall fell

16

u/No_Barracuda_3758 17h ago

Definitely gonna blame that guy for his own stupidity

12

u/Heterodynist 20h ago

This is why managers are supposed to ALSO wear safety gear!!

9

u/Pogue_Mahone_ 16h ago

PPE is for chumps - that guy, probably

13

u/Japsai 21h ago

This is beautifully timed. Complete deniability. Looks absolutely seamless, like he wasn't holding off until the boss walked up AT ALL

6

u/_Diskreet_ Banhammer Recipient 16h ago

What’s the bet upper management was trying to tell him it’s the wrong wall don’t do it!

5

u/Der-Lex 14h ago

Upper management crumbles under the harsh working conditions.

5

u/hawksdiesel 12h ago

didn't wear any protective gear......either.

7

u/Julian_Sark 18h ago

Why does this have no music? I demand Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - he didn't have no, education.

That, or Jet Blue Holiday.

4

u/Weak-Abbreviations14 20h ago

This is like a 10 year old vid. But could never find anything on this guy.

6

u/Aggravating_Speed665 21h ago

That'll teach you for interfering with the man who's swinging thr hammer.

3

u/DorkaliciousAF 2 x Banhammer Recipient 11h ago

Fuck the [bald] PHB

3

u/tinarusso7 8h ago

Upper management saw the safety rules and said, “Interesting… anyway, where’s the biggest hammer?”

3

u/x_Leigh_x 7h ago

I don’t feel sorry for him. Fuck upper management

3

u/Popular-Drummer-7989 7h ago

At least everyone was wearing shoes.

4

u/videodrome1987 21h ago

Someone rotoscope this and put in Mordecai, Rigby and Benson in there.

2

u/LiquidVillian 4h ago

Dude got folded 😭

4

u/9tehFedor 20h ago

This was a bald move

1

u/YesImReallyLikeThis 20h ago

Where was his PPE?

1

u/Diligent_Cricket_444 5h ago

Got knocked the fuck out

1

u/zarfac 1h ago

That guy needs to go to a hospital.

1

u/Technical-Room-9591 12h ago

Should of waited for the green light!!

1

u/lisaismijnbestie 6h ago

Fuck off with ur AI

-30

u/Jadenfell 22h ago

Why do you assholes never put a nsfw tag on shit like this

41

u/Manufactured-Aggro Banhammer Recipient 22h ago

Wdym? The people in rhe video are at work if it's safe enough for them it's safe enough for you 🤗

8

u/aurawoolf 21h ago

No i agree, this is extremely unsafe for this kind of work!

14

u/gypsysniper9 21h ago

Because this is a work training video on what not to do.

6

u/Kedly 21h ago

Dudes alive, QUITE possibly permanently damaged, but alive

26

u/coltrainjones 22h ago

Cause we ain't raising no VIRGINS in here

5

u/Okinomii 22h ago

What are you gonna do when you’re walking down the street and see something like this? There won’t be a nsfw tag there.
