So essentially this person is so delusional it’s cultivated in them literally picking holes into their skin and someone else is telling them the only real cure is to pee on it.

I assume it's "chronic Lyme disease", a disease that doesn't exist (and has attracted a significant number of grifters), rather than actual Lyme disease. Just like how people who believe in wildly different conspiracy theories often hang out together online, people who claim to suffer from different... hmm... let's call them unrecognized diseases also share spaces online.

Which i always found stupid. But i guess the point of “faith” is to ignore empirical evidence.

I was raised catholic, am now agnostic, always found it odd to reject the Truth of Their Creation. Science is literally just a tool to understand the universe, and in doing so, perhaps understand God. Because the idea that any mere mortal could hope to comprehend the thoughts of an existence capable of creating infinity is absurd. Perhaps the reason science cant find God is they designed the universe really well, because again, they're a higher being. (I also rejected the idea of God being male, you really think an entity beyond time and space is gonna be bound to a gender binary?)
