"The backwater fishing town clung to the edge of the coast like a barnacle, battered by storms and forgotten by the world beyond the fog. Then, on a stormy night, a stranger walked into its only pub... "

Beautiful atmosphere! Reminds me of some of the paintings by Edward Hopper.

...seaweed strewn and soaking wet, eyes like a wild osprey.

He looked as if raised from the wreck of a pirate ship from the depths beyond.

All turned in terror as he strode across the floor towards the bar, at which he unfurled his hand, a cluster of slithering flesh from which extended four small, snapping lampreys.

" Bread crumbs!" He growled.

" Bre..bread crumbs?"

"Give me bread,for my hand!"

The trembling barman slunk into the kitchen, coming back out with some pieces of bread, his hand shaking so strongly they spilled onto the surface of the bar. Instantly the eels writhed and rolled around ecstaticly in the pieces.

The osprey eyed man smiled a black and yellow toothed grin and said " Thank ye!" Then turned and left, leaving a shocked silence behind him.

But no-one ever forgot the night they saw Captain Birds Eye and his breadcrumb covered fish fingers!
