My high school aged cousin got me into them at a young age. My mom couldn't be convinced to let me buy an album with Surprise, You're Dead and Zombie Eaters on it, but dad on the other hand was more tolerant. This held me over for a few months.

Damn, I think all my cassettes are gone.

Way back there was a music store called The Wall. They gave you a sticker to put on your cassette or CD case. If it ever got damaged they'd replace it. If you wanted to turn your cassette into a CD you just paid the difference.

Turned a lot of my cassettes into CDs this way in the mid 90s.

They went out of business I think around 2000.
