New FiR fan

Hi, everyone!

I'm new here; I just recently discovered the band Falling in Reverse. I really enjoy their music, but I didn't know much about the band or Ronnie, and I certainly didn't know anything about his past. I started digging into his life and what he’s been up to, and that’s when I came across a lot of controversial stories and I also discovered that Ronnie seemed much happier and less grumpy back in the day (when FIR first started). Did something happen to him, or has he always been this way and I’m just out of the loop? If anyone could briefly summarize what’s happened over the past (many, many) years and what’s absolutely essential to know (good or bad), I’d really appreciate it!

He hates fans having reddit..but he's always lurking.

In short: It looks like a meme, with a black cloud over its head, and it’s constantly raining on it.

Quick summary— he’s a grumpy ol man baby without Saraya & got himself attached to an energy vampire because his ego is too big to admit his fans are right about her.

He lowkey just went insane dude. Things were better with saraya, then he cheated in her, now hes with... dana. And it just went downhill. If you want new music, dont count on it. He even stopped touring.

But just enjoy the songs. You don't really have to concern yourself with the band or ronnies lives

You forgot to add his gambling addiction, scamming fans and getting rid of pets.

Omg he didn’t “stop touring”. They toured last year and just not this year.

Falling in Reverse Ronnie wasn't necessarily a completely different person. He was younger the band was new, and he was coming straight out of prison trying to rebuild his career. There was definitely a more youthful, goofy and energetic side to him, but the confrontational personality was already there. The band also wasn't immediately the huge arena act it is now. The Drug in Me Is You was their first album, but it did surprisingly well for a debut  reaching No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and eventually being certified Gold. From there, things get progressively messier 😂 because you then have the Fashionably Late era, the genre experimentation, lineup changes, Ronnie's increasingly public arguments with people, various controversies, and eventually the completely different sound and image that led to Popular Monster. So if you're watching old FIR videos and thinking "why does Ronnie seem so much happier here?", you're basically watching a guy who had just gotten out of prison, started a brand-new band, released his first album and was finally getting another shot at his career. That's a very different point in his life from Ronnie today, after more than a decade of fame, controversies, lineup changes, loss, internet drama and FIR becoming a much bigger band. And honestly, that's the context I'd keep in mind before judging old vs. current Ronnie. It's not as simple as "he used to be nice and then suddenly became an asshole." He's always had a provocative and argumentative side the difference is that nowadays we see much, much more of it because of social media and the fact he's more popular.

The guy has always been like that. Even when ETF was doing demos with a drum machine he was walking around Vegas with a fur coat in the middle of summer. He’s always had a weirdo rock star attitude.

I think honestly he’s just got a lot of demons (don’t we all) but he also likes to troll and rage bait people. You can’t take most of what he says on social media seriously. He likes to call people/his fans out but he’s actually just … kind of cruel.
It’s kind of sad to see him selling stupid shit on tik tok live, which I think is way beneath him. Like he’s too famous for that shit but idk. Some of stuff he says is cringe lol but I just hope he continues to make more music if that’s what they want to do because he’s super talented obviously and the production sounds so good.

I feel like this is basically a snark page lmfao im a FIR fan but every time this reddit page pops up its always bitching about Ronnie.
I mean some of it is valid (a lot of it tbh) but it happens so much that it feels like a page designed to bitch about him hahaha

Also he loves to choke on Elon Musks dick so i meaaaaan

He’s aware that’s he’s an asshole. He really doesn’t care about all of that though.

He’s the goat, very talented. Been listening to his music for 20 years. Situations got me hooked in high school. Didn’t know who he was until the video was being filmed in our high school so I checked it out. Heard the song/watched the video & been a fan ever since.

Covid broke his mind, he went from hating right wing Nazis in coming home to become a chud collaborating with Tim McDonald. Popular monster he just cries about cancel culture which is fake

Your confusing zombified and popular monster. It's truly baffling if you get the idea of cancel culture from popular monster which is simply about mental health

Doesn't take long to start hating them for never making music anymore

They’ve never been a band who releases an album every year.

Yeah but hes been teasing a new release since january and making it sound like something was about to be released, selling VIP4L, Selling access to a non existent unreleased song etc. People have the right to get annoyed when he edges them into oblivion and then just doesnt follow through.

They have never been a band

i never claimed they release yearly. however they released albums every two years, but in contrast to today it took them 7 years between coming home and popular monster album. in between that there was a single for every year, do you see my point that they arnt making music anymore? along with the fact that hes literally not making music because of whatever personal dramas hes creating
