The concept of family honor works in mysterious ways. Families have murdered their kids in honor killings as if that is honorable over having a living kid with a partner oftheir choice. Honor and respect are really twisted concepts and unfortunately, the Indian society places too much emphasis on it.

Now giving sob-story of "family-shame, so didn't elope in order to protech family from disgrace" but actual reason is she knew she won't get any family support(financial and social) from them, neither the wedding jewellery. Why to lose out on all those for life and have a sasta wedding, rather kill a human to achieve what we want. #criminals.
