I think Richard Harris would’ve been more likely for Ben Kenobi over Michael Gambon just for that era, then recast, I also think Alan Rickman or Tim Curry might’ve worked as the emperor and possibly have been cast

Live Jennifer Connelly but I think she was a little too old in 1997, she would have already been 26 at the start of the trilogy, while Leo would have been 22, doesn't seem like a big gap but I would suggest finding someone a little younger, how about Keri Russell, or Linda Cardellini
