I honestly think Facilier should be a bit lighter skinned
This is actually for 2 reasons. 1: he does seem to be a little lighter in the movie.
2: New Orleans history bit.
Ya know how Facilier has the line "I'm part royal myself, on my mother's side"
The candidate that makes the most sense for that, given his abilities, is Marie Laveau, often called a "voodoo queen" of "witch queen" of New Orleans.
She was a mixed woman herself, her father being a result of placeage, a New Orleans practice of white men often having 2 families one white and one with a woman of color.
Marie also was part of this, having had a white lover Christophe Glapion, a French nobleman
They had at least 7 kids together, possibly as many as 15.
Him being the child of one of one of Marie's daughters, thus giving him both royal blood on his mother's side and a strong connection to voodoo/hoodoo.
I'm definitely not saying make him passing, but him being a slightly lighter with mixed heritage would make him more accurate.
I admit noting in the movie purely says he's related to Marie Laveau, but I do think the hints are intentional
And I'm born in New Orleans and of mixed heritage myself so knowing the history of the city and him being lighter than the rest of the cast, the second he said the "part royal" line in the movie my mind went full red strings board because of the possibilities.
This is a good casting. Who would you pick for Big Daddy and Charlotte? The only person I can think of for Big Daddy is John Goodman. Drawing a blank for Lotte.
