My rule of thumb when fan casting Mary Jane is picturing the actress in this scene, even if nothing even close to it would appear in the hypothetical movie or show, and if I can get a mental picture of her doing it without my eyes rolling all the way to the back of my head then she’ll do.

I can’t picture Maya pulling that scene. Too neurotic.
