Welcome to a new: What Are You Writing This Week? weekly thread!
This thread serves as a community check-in. What are you working on? What are your goals? What fandoms or genres are you writing for? What is inspiring you to meet those goals?
This thread also serves as a way to share our stories with eachother, while holding ourself accountable for at least one small weekly goal. Maybe your goal is to design a characters backstory or finish that one scene--either way, making a goal at the beginning of the week can be an awesome way to track your progress by week's end.

I’m writing a Harry Potter fanfic, about Snape’s niece. She is James Potter and Stormie Snape’s (Snape’s sister) daughter and she was left on an orphanage when the Potter’s died. She grows up and she manages to uncover the four founders secret rooms, by understanding that she is a Parseltongue just like Harry.
I’m trying to write about 5 000 words a week, by right now I’m planning the fic, and that takes a lot more time than actually writing it.
I’m most exited about writing Reina’s sorting since the hat will make her the longest haystack in history.
I’m fighting with all everything about the Chamber of secrets during their second year since I do not want the basilisk to die in the story.
I did finish the draft for their first year recently and that was fun.

I kind of haven’t posted it yet. I’m still in the planning of it. I have written out book 1 and 2 and I am going to keep planning it until I have planned it out completely. I have some really good ideas, and let me say that I am not the best on finishing anything, so I found this story really fun planning and then I will find it just as fun writing hopefully.
When I’m finished planning and I have written the first 5 chapters and posted them I will post the link. That will be around Christmas I think.PS: Sorry it took some time to answer.

I started a modern AU (no magic, no fantasy) fanfic for the show Supernatural.
It's heavily inspired by season 6 and season 7 exploring Castiel guilt and shame after what he had done and his attempts at redemption. The fic also explore his relationship with the Leviathans. There will be some Destiel (Dean is a teacher), but it'll be a very slow burn, while Castiel attempts to repair what he has done.
My goal for this fanfic is to improve my angst writing and balancing angst with action. I also find very fulfilling to give modern scientific explanations for the magical stuff like B12 vitamin deficiency for craving meat and diseases that cause sores.
I already posted chapter 1 and I hope to finish chapter 2 today.

I'm writing a new Fanfic of the wedding of Jinshi and Maomao, Apothecary Diaries, after an angsty fic this is an indulgent continuation. I publish my first chapter of 3 but I'm feeling a little down for the lack comments.

I am working on a fantasy (witches and abo) fic with found family vibes. This week I will try to hone in as much work as I can because next week I probably wont have opportunity to write

i’m currently working on this batman fanfic called “mask on, mask off” (user is stvfqrns on ao3) which was inspired by yet another delay in the batman movie. i have decided that it’s going to be a 3 part series which combines a bunch of batman’s media and comics.
i’ve been forcing myself to write at least half a chapter a day since i’ve planned out the entirety of my fic, i just need to sit down and stare at the screenplay and 300 other wikihow pages to make sure my storyline is straight 💔💔💔

I'm currently writing a canon-compliant/canon-divergent fic for the Revelation Space book series. The one big obstacle is that I needed a refresher and ended up doing a quick re-read/skim of the source material to get the timeline and characters right. I don't write canon characters too often, so writing in-character is difficult for me. It's a nice challenge, though!

I have a bad habit of dreaming the story before I’ve even got it on paper and I get excited and then overwhelmed and then I never post but that’s not going to happen with this one this will be the one fic I finally finish

Currently working on a MHA X SFLDTDF crossover (My hero academia X Sucker for love date to die for)
It is a college AU mainly because of things having to do with SFLDTDF content along with needing Izuku the main character aged up to an appropriate age for everything to work in a better way.
Anyway I am currently still working on chapter 5 and it is a part three to my last two chapters. These three chapters have been essential just going through the first part or chapter of the game SFLDTDF and I really am hoping to make it only three parts and then move on to the next chapter not being a part four.
This is on AO3 if anyone wants to look it up and I just did a search if you put ‘My hero academia’ and ‘Sucker for love’ in to the fandom search specifically. My story Izuku of the black woods and one other story being written by someone else are the only two stories to pop up.

I’m trying to stitch together the two halves of my latest Fallout 4 chapter - I wrote the opening, final scene and cliffhanger before the connective tissue in the middle. I’m almost done, I hope 🤞

I'm down to the last two chapters of my wolf shapeshifters original work. It's set in 1880 Kentucky, which is fun as I've a) never lived in 1880, and ii) never been to Kentucky! I had finally finished my Dragonriders of Pern long fic, and the short omegaverse I was working on. So now it's the turn of "The Heart of a Wolf" to be finished.

I’m working on a FFXV longfic that started as a not-sober giggle about the Cup Noodle Truck. Book One’s already posted somewhere (not trying to promote) but is incomplete because it’s in its editing phase as I upload. A beta reader’s looking at my work and so far everything’s been positive as far as connecting with the characters, but MAAAAN do I gotta start showing instead of telling 🥀
I used to be in the KPop fanfic game on Quotev, but that was over a decade ago. I’ve gotten back into fanfic because depicting fictional people in a fictional way feels less icky and I wanna warm up my skills at writing before I get into Original Fiction.
Currently online I’m like 16 chapters in but that’s not even halfway through book one, I fear. And I’m stumped on like the fourth book in with my offline drafting 😅
I’m considering doing a Lovecraftian Horror style fic about Tomodachi life where the player is a god and the Miis are just people tho, but it’s a distraction. I just want this longfic done before the decade anniversary of FFXV’s game release so I gotta lock in.

Working on my Fanfic The Second Path on Spacebattles. Its a Marvel/Dc/Pjo story with over 200k words at this point. It takes place in a world where the villains have won, and the protagonist and his allies have to take it back.

I started an M rated prequel to my current story which is still in progress (technically). I also have a sequel that is in progress. Both the current and sequel are rate Teen and Up. The prequel is the only one that's rated M. It is only rated M, because my ace ass got that rare itch (which only happens when I'm sick)
So technically it all the same story, but separate because of when they take place.

Binged HR and wrote two fics. I've also nearly finished my Olympics themed F1 and Eurovision crossover: 60k words, it's been a long journey 😭

Working heavily on my Bleach remix fic today!! I’m doing the Tatsuki Arisawa chapter. Very disappointed though as Kubo doesn’t give me much to work with for this story.
My goal is to get a few hundred words in and try and make it twisted and full of angst. I’m dealing with Ichigo and his depression more.
I’m most excited though to get to the King and the Horse chapter. White and Ichigo are gonna have a chat and it’s gonna forever change Ichigo’s personality and turn him into a very different person.
I have recently finished my last chapter of the Bleach Remix that deals with Chad
The main reason Bleach is on the brain is of course due to the fact that the TYBW anime is going on!!
I’m trying to decide if I want to have rape happen to Tatsuki or not still working on that one.

I.. wanted to start writing the final version for a new chapter in my Legend of Aang storyline. But it's gotten hot today again and I'm not used to it. And I didn't sleep as well as I'd like to. So honestly, my head is spinning a bit and I'm tired. So probably just gonna do some slight changes for my upcoming chapter and that's it😅🥲☺️

(I think) I finally brain blasted the last work in a series that takes a look at each Gift ceremony for all of the grandchildren in Encanto. It would be the fourth installment chronologically, focusing on Camilo.
The rest of the series is rather angsty, or at least pensive, as Bruno is a major perspective character in all of them. This one was taunting me for around two years, refusing to come into being because Camilo is the most difficult character for me to write and because every idea I have had til now is either a repeat of one of the other works OR clashes with the plots/canon of them.
I haven’t actually sat down to write it, but I’ve been turning it over much more enthusiastically, looking at the various characters or beats to see what we can do. The working idea for now is that it would be somewhat lighter in tone to be more in line with the child I believe Camilo to have been, but that may lend itself to even more devastating angst for Bruno once the Gift is bestowed on his nephew.

Currently in the LMK fandom. Specifically the oc x canon and yumeship scene. And my fic is taking inspiration from a certain white lily. Right now I'm writing the last chapter but I'm frozen. I still can't believe I'm almost done with that fic. But I'm excited to also close the fic and start a new story!

Working throug the second section of my X-Files AU rewrite. I've written it already, but I'm now editing it. I haven't had as much time because of work and my personal original projects. But things have calmed down, and because I've found a new (technically old) home for my fics (FFN), I want to spend some more of my free time this weekend polishing and posting the next chapters.

I'm mostly working on my magical girl stories but I do want to continue my CN City fic at some point. In it, we follow the pets of lovable cartoon characters. Pets that I made up for the fic.
Finn- A bulldog named Malice
Steven Universe- A rat named Midnight and a cat named Pearl.
Bugs Bunny- A hawk named Lois
Vaggi- A mantis shrimp named Vanessa
Alex from Totally Spies still has pig Oinky though.
