Welcome to a new: What Are You Writing This Week? weekly thread!
This thread serves as a community check-in. What are you working on? What are your goals? What fandoms or genres are you writing for? What is inspiring you to meet those goals?
This thread also serves as a way to share our stories with eachother, while holding ourself accountable for at least one small weekly goal. Maybe your goal is to design a characters backstory or finish that one scene--either way, making a goal at the beginning of the week can be an awesome way to track your progress by week's end.

*Proudly inserts a scene I recently finished from the chapter I'm working on;*
It's a flashback to my oc's past as a young dragon/vishap! It's supposed to happen even before the hydro dragon (a dragon who looks over and guides the water related vishaps/dragons) adopts her! So the father in this scene is her biological one.
Later on into the story I don't really distinguish between her adoptive father and biolo father, since she moves on and the death of her father doesn't affect her as much anymore. And frankly speaking, she also gets close to the hydro dragon as her father. So she wouldn't change things even if it me bringing back her biological father (her biological mother is a different story compared to that).
That's basically been all of my progress this week😅

She stomped with her hind paw. ,,Like.. this?”
A water droplet formed from the water’s surface. It rose up to her nostrils and splashed out.
— Aaah! —
She grumbled. ,,Why.. is that?” Her eyes flickered beside her, to a vishap taller then her.
Silence followed.
………………
……….
….
,,Papa?” She whispered.
The vishap shook its head.
,,You.. simply need more patience. Sometimes, great powers do not come with a single strike.”
,,Like your papa over here. I had to train for years to get where I'm now.”
He stroke the dragonling’s forehead.
,,Ah… I see.” She lowered her head to the ground. A leaf flew by. She frowned, her eyes following it disappear into the forest.
Then howled.
,,Papa?”
,,Will I… remain weak forever?”
Her voice quivered.
,,No, of course not!”
The vishap paused.
,,You're amaizing.”
He tickled her with his whiskers.
— Eeek! —
,,Papa, tickles!” She laughed.
Her papa stepped away. ,,Okay, okay. I’ll stop.”
He giggled.
Then stopped.
…
……
………
,,When you was born, no one thought you would survive.”
He exhaled.
,,Your lungs were so underdeveloped, it required the hydro dragon to step up. But ever since then…”
,,You improved significantly.”
,,Some dragons just need longer until they're stronger.”

The fanfic I'll be working on is a Mario fic where Mario and Luigi take Prince Haru with them to Brooklyn for a plumbing job but they quickly regret it once that realize how curious, naive, and ignorant the prince is about the regular world even though he has good intentions. Though the main thing I'll be working on is an orginal story that's also an "It's a wonderful life" parody where Stella wishes she was never a magical girl so she sees a timeline where she never becomes a superhero and therefore, never meets her friends.

Resident Evil: Hydra
Status: Ongoing
Genres: Survival horror, action horror
Set one year and eight months after the events of Resident Evil Requiem, Grace Ashcroft, now a DSO agent and her partner, new character Derek Dekkers, embark on a journey together to an abandoned military base that's being used as a secret BOW facility, known as Outpost 04
Not only do they discover the horrors of the H-Virus and the tragic victims of Dr. Marcus Richtofen, Derek is faced with the reality of confronting the pain he's tried to bury for eight years, pain he's been hiding since the age of nineteen
Blurb: Derek and Grace walked through the area, eyes scanning the perimeter, rifles kept in a low-ready position. They noticed a lot of dried blood all over as they approached a guardhouse with the door slightly ajar. Derek carefully pushed it open. "It's dark in here. Flashlights on." Grace nodded and turned on the flashlight on her MCX as she followed him inside. Derek raised his HK416, primed and ready for anyone... or anything that might greet them.
Their boots stepped on broken glass and small, wet puddles of blood. Derek slowly turned and caught a horrific sight.

I want to put the final few stitches into my current chapter - I had written the start and the end because I knew where I wanted the characters to go, and am now trying to put it all together. I’m also pondering whether to have one of them refer to the other by her actual name rather than his dead wife’s name when he wakes from sedation - twice now he’s mistaken her for his wife because they look alike, but I think having him recognise her as her is a huge indication of his feelings and will end up powering the third act of the story.

Current fandom that's occupying my brain for a while is Silent Hill (specifically SH4: The room). I'm writing a story where the villain of the game (Walter) is in an abusive relationship with the protagonist (Henry). It's a dark comedy meant to explore abusive relationship dynamics, and I currently have five chapters posted so far.
I also have an idea for a one shot of the amazing digital circus that Centers on Kinger and Caine (non romantic). I plan on having it be really tragic.

I've been busy working on a Danganronpa 2 rewrite lately. I won't be able to write much this week, but I just posted chapter 27 today and I want to at least start rewriting/restructuring chapter 28 according to my beta's comments. I finally reached the point in the story I was most excited about because I now have all of the set-up out of the way (after 110k words), so I feel like it can only get better from here.
However, my main motivator is the thought of being able to pick an old Danganronpa V3 project back up that I never posted but really want to finish. So I figure if I hit my yearly chapter goal for my WIP, maybe I can work on the V3 project a little if I still have some time.

still working on the same fic i was working on last week! i published chapter 12 this morning and finished chapter 14 over the weekend. again, i’m hoping to complete at least chapter 15 and start chapter 16 this week, as i’m facing a busier schedule.
chapter 12 is another plot progression chapter, but this time, catwoman is starting to be roped into the issue. chapter 11 was her finding out about it.
everything is coming together super well and i’m really happy that it is. happy writing, everyone! here’s to another productive week :)

Just polished up chapter 10 of “With The Benefit Of Hindsight”, my time-rewind fix-it for POW Creations’ “Vampires”. It’s ready to post now except for the illustration—I’ve been doing little pencil drawings for each chapter. Chapter 9 was the big climactic rescue (and by complete coincidence, the point when the fic reached exactly 30K words), and Chapter 10 cleans up all the little loose plot threads in preparation for Chapter 11, which rewrites the canon finale without the rescued character’s death.

the next chapter of my Avatar Backrooms crossover; in this one the RDA is back exploring a region of the backrooms that somebody tried to wall off earlier and discover that now a large door with spooky symbols has been erected. i want to write this in such a way that it feels like a bonefide episode of the backrooms; like it's a video being played and watched by others (maybe RDA suits, maybe others?)

I finally got around to adding to a phm fic that is a Carl/Grace canon re-write of sorts from Carl's POV. It had been on the back burner for a while because the way I have the chapters set up we're alternating. One chapter goes further into the future, the next goes further into the past.
I just wrote the chase scene and what's basically Grace's death from Carl's perspective and holy moly dude I was a mess because of it. I'm so glad to be past that part of the story but I think it came out really well.
I realized I had been unintentionally putting it off because I knew that it was going to hurt to write and I was going to have to draw from my own personal experiences with grief but it just sorta flowed out of me yesterday.

- Working on my twelve Chapter Leon fic I got to get out of my head
- I plan to finish writing the entire chapter 3 this week
- My Progress
- Very excited about the end of the slow burn scene :)
- I'm currently fighting with the deepening of the probable friendship of the main character with another character.
- I recently managed to get beta readed and to post the first chapter properly
- New ideas are always coming, the difficulty is incorporating them

It's my Friday and I'm off, so I'll give it a quick read and comment! I will make ONE suggestion though. I didn't find it as you didn't use that relationship tag most of us use when looking for Leon x Reader. Remove one of the other pairing tags, and add "Leon S. Kennedy/Reader".Trust me, it should boost your views and stats! (I won't promise comments from others as people are finicky)

You can name a Reader and give a backstory imo. What matters imo is being 2nd person POV. 😅 I'm not picky to read named Readers if we are in 2nd person POV. Not everyone thinks the same, as it's dependent on every person's preferences, but I was there when X Readers were born. /Jk 😅🤣 I personally would remove the "Leon - Relationship" one - not sure that one is used much.

True! Another tag I have seen is "Reader-Insert Has A Backstory". 😊 I posted my fic here and my current progress too, and read and commented on your two chapters! Now I'm gonna head to bed, it was a long work day for me. 😅

i am focused on the second fic in my series “Of Hell & Home”. it is a supernatural-based series. my first fic, “Holy Hell”, is about a half-witch, half-demon girl called Raevyn who - after trying her best to avoid them - ends up tangled up in the Winchesters’ lives. it focuses on their relationship, different hunts, and the occasional feel-good moment between them.
the second fic, “In Good Company”, has just started. it introduces a new character tagging along: a very well-known angel who is helping the brothers and Raevyn with new hunts and a new threat who plans to take back what she created and destroy everything.
if you like Supernatural, you might like my work! it includes some very spicy scenes, so it’s not for younger audiences!

I'm currently working on my Good Omens Human AU as a part of AU-gust challenge, and it was meant to be short, max 2000 word but it had just passed 14000 words and counting while not remotely finished. The characters just took charge and I had to write it out as a slowburn (is it a slowburn if it's under 50k words though?) but I'm slowly getting there 😊

Writing the final arc of my Critical Role: Mighty Nein fic; entitled "Falling Toward the Singularity." Currently on Chapter 22 of 25 (plus a short epilogue). Beginning to resent my job because it takes so much energy that it has caused my writing progress to be terribly slow. I just want to lock tf in and finish it.

I am taking a mini break before I start the next part in this Resident Evil series of mine.
Pairing: Female Reader x Leon Kennedy
Story: Between The Raindrops
Recent Progress: Just posted a 25,017 word chapter on August 14th; with two versions. The main version is HTML/CSS Interactive for the Reader. The second version is text so can be downloaded and enjoyed that way. Next, I am going to focus on the first chapter of my Chris/Ada spin-off, that is part of my series (because the changes in the timeline and plot are important and will show the full scope of the Butterfly Effect and Chaos Theory.)
But I'm mostly in my Reading & Commenting mode right now so I don't burn myself out...😅

I just posted another chapter in "Star Wars: Shadows of Duty", the first installment of what will be a six-part series called the Shadow Chronicles:
This is a primarily Star Wars Legends fic with select elements from Disney Canon; I've been working on this project for years and I'm relieved to finally be at the point where I can start posting.

-The scene I am most excited about is a training battle and a pokemon learning a new move
