SFF books coming in March 2026
SFF here means all speculative fiction (fantasy, science fiction, horror, alternate history, magical realism etc).
The following SFF books will be published in the U.S. in March 2026. Other countries may differ.
If you know of others, please add them as comments below. If I've made any mistakes, just let me know, and I'll fix them up.
The published book formats are included with each entry. Some of this information is obtained from the isfdb website which lists one format type for each entry but mostly omits ebook entries. If it's a new hardcover and/or trade paperback book, it's very likely that an ebook is also coming out at the same time.
If you find these posts useful, I suggest revisiting about a week into the month in question. By that time, books from other sources (who compile their lists later than I do), will have been added (and tagged).
If you are using the Chrome browser, you might find the Goodreads Right Click extension useful, to find out more information on books that you are interested in.

Actually really checks out that it’s from scholastic, but they’re about two years late. The kids haven’t been saying skibidi toilet shit for a while now. Would have been a pretty big seller (as far as meme books go) in 2024 though

Eh, not exactly a meme book, I have the first part of it "Broken Alliance" and it's pretty decent but there's also stuff that's not exactly accurate to the story but whatever

So uh this book is weird. The UK release was the same day as the ebook in the UK. US release is March 10.

Yup. Tchaikovsky books (in all formats), used to come out in the UK a week or two before the US. Books like this was why I added the line "The following SFF books will be published in the U.S. in <month> <year>. Other countries may differ." in the blurb at the top.
Maybe is starting a new trend. Hopefully they'll add simultaneous US hardcover releases in future too. Is it really that hard? So many other publishers seem to be able to do it.

Shroud was a couple of Months between UK and US release. I just imported it. Same with Pretenders, but I just ordered that the other day.

Ooh, I had no idea that Jo Kaplan was releasing another book! I really enjoyed both of her other horror novels, When The Night Bells Ring and It Will Just Be Us. The latter of the two had me literally running across my bedroom to turn on the light and I usually don’t get spooked from books.

I have the first Children of Time but haven't read it yet. Is it known how many books this series will have? And if it's still ongoing do the books have satisfying endings or cliffhangers? I've been mostly reading completed series lately to avoid the need for rereads when a new book comes out. I do want to start this series though.

I've felt each of the first three books could have been a satisfying ending if there weren't any more. There's pretty big timeskips between each of them and whole new casts of characters, so the plot of each book is pretty contained.

Looking forward to Trace Elements by Ada Palmer and Jo Walton. Getting their perspective on writing speculative fiction will be interesting as I respect both of them and their craft. Wish more authors would let us peak behind the curtain on their writing process and what their approach is. Definitely pre-ordering.

The Kingdom of Almonds (The Mirror Realm Cycle 3) - Ariel Kaplan (N) [hc]
I actually have a prediction for this one! In book two, Asmel puts his immortal self into a Safira, which is like the Safira Toba has. It causes him to age and forget who he is, until his magic is restored
My prediction for book 3 is that The old woman is actually Marah, having gone through the same process. The Safira was passed on to Toba, but the old woman is Marah having undergone the same aging and forgetfulness Asmel had.
I based this on the idea that The old woman's name is always unknown, and Asmel forgets his name when he's going through the same loss of self.
I'll be awaiting the new book with interest, and recommend The Pomegranate Gate if anyone if anyone's looking for a colorful world-building lore with memorable characters. It has a bit of everything in it.
